H sphere & AWstats

Hi

Has anyone had experience of installing AWstats on a website with a HSphere control panel
which doesn't have AWstats as an installed traffic option

I've had 4 guys try with partial success

1) you had to update manually and if you did it at the wrong time or missed a day you couldn't access the stats for that period

2) It was automatic but left of 4 hours (my heaviest traffic period)

If you install successfully I will pay provided you don't ask too much

    Isn't AWstats included in HSPhere? Whether it's available to you would be up to your web host. Maybe the easiest way is to see if your host will turn it on for you.

    It's not included with my current host

    It was included with my previous host, also H-Sphere, but they've gone down the tubes

      If you install Awstats on your site alone, if your host upgrades the server software, it won't be overwritten?

      Instead you can use Google analytics or any simple web site traffic tool instead of serverside installation.

      What exactly you are trying to do? Get traffic analysis of a site?

    Michael,
    do you have access to the raw log files? if so you can install awstats on Windoz or a linux box offline and run the stats there. You just need to be able to scp or ftp the files to the box on which awstats is installed. If you don't have access to the log files or just want to be able to see them from your webserver then this is of course a mute point.

    If you do let me know and I can help you get it installed and an automated pscp program set up to download the logs.
