Hi,

I have been reading around this site regarding building a list based on your chosen niche.

I would call myself a newbie in Internet marketing but I have always wanted to get started in it. I need to choose a method and stick with it and make sure I follow it through until I start earning. But I am nervous as Im a University student with little money for funding.

Using a squeeze page offering an free informative offer seems to be an effective way to build your list.
For building the squeeze page I have been looking at the OptimizePress theme, but it seems rather expensive for starting out in Internet Marketing.

With driving traffic to your squeeze page what are some cost effective ways to receive quality traffic to your page with little money?

Do most of your use your own original content or use plr content?
I feel I do not have to knowledge, time or skills to write original content.

Thanks for all your help.

If you are a newbie I reccommend you to try "free methods" first. Offer something free for your subscribers. Try to find good forums for your niche, and use it to promote your site/list. Using forum signatures is also a good idea.

I'm still playing around with list building.

I tried out a solo ad and got 80 sign ups, and made $30.

I chose a solid wso, $9 mark, and wrote a report that complimented it... and of course had a few links in my report to it.

The solo cost me $40... so, all in all, it cost me $10 and my time... good experience.

That said... I'm still very new to this and am not skilled on what to do with my list.

I was just about to start a topic on this... guess I will.

Now I'm playing around with fb ads.

I tried a direct link to a cb offer, but it got declined... I now just made a free report, will send a link to a squeeze page, and harvest some emails... I've included a link in my report to the cb product.

I bought a $50 fb ad coupon on fiverr, it was accepted, but my ad declined.

Now all I need to find out is what to do with the emails...

*forgot to mention - ye, i assume i had decent numbers opt in as i made a video on my squeeze page*

Cheers dude, I just made my own squeeze page with awebber and nice graphics from photoshop... just using the header bg image and button image options... I also just go for email opt in...

Had a look at your other thread... as my eyes are about to bleed from putting this all together today... and working on other stuff... can you let me know how this sounds... what I've done...

        1. FB ad created (waiting aproval) linked to squeeze page

        2. When they enter email, they're taken to my OTO... at the top, I've let them know that there's a link at the bottom to their download.

        3. On payment, they're taken to the OTO (the download has also been emailed using aweber)

        4. No thanks link takes em to the freebie

I'm wondering, why 2 lists? Is this so you separate buyers from freebiers?

My freebie also has a link to a cb offer... not sure if this is overkill

Now I just need to wait for lord fb to accept my ad

..... one more thing... as far as the cpc goes with fb... the suggested cpc was $.57c to $1.58c... I put in .65c... does this affect your approval... what do you normaly bid?

Exactly. You treat your buyers differently.

You might promote low ticket products to your subscriber list, and higher priced products to the people who have show the ability and willingness to pay.

A buyers list is much more valuable than a freebies list.

Cool... after you've gotten their emails... I take it you groom em with some get to know you emails... this is the part I need to learn.

How many emails do you send out before you start sending offers?

Do you just send tidbits on related niches?

Do you sell solo ads? or exchanges?

This is all virgin terrotory... nice to see someone who can talk straight.

You need to think about the monthly costs associated with listbuilding.

Aweber, hosting, and your own domain are the essentials, but you may also want to include some advertising, and perhaps even a tracking service to know what's working.

In terms of what to use as a lead magnet, video is much easier than writing a report. Create a 5 minute video using something like Jing that covers a simple task in your niche that newbies are always asking.

The real key thing is to commit to spending the next 6 months doing this, and measure success then.

Looking at those costs, they shouldn't be extreme.

When you say a tracking service, is this to track how different tweaks to your sales funnel effect conversion rates etc?

    Hi!

Creating a sales funnel that automates your list building as much as possible is vital to your success.

It allows you to focus on driving traffic to your squeeze pages, blog etc so you can capture someones email address and then your sales funnel directs them to your OTO, Up-sell, 2nd Up-sell etc etc.

You may even have a membership site you can promote at the back end of your sales funnel.

The possibilities are only limited by your imagination really.

Feel free to download the list building report below to get you started.

All the best and keep us posted on your progress as it will help others here at the W.F.

You can try following free traffic ways:

    1.setup a blog, and write articles frequently on it;

    2.create videos and publish on Youtube;

    3.compile a report from your own articles or PLR articles and publish on documents sharing sites;

    4.publish links of your blog articles, video links and report links to facebook, stumbleUpon, Twitter;

    It's one way.

For many people it seems to be an effective way (though a skepchick like me might suspect that not many of them have actually split-tested squeeze pages against the alternatives to squeeze pages, and there might still, therefore, be better ways). Every single time I've split-tested it, myself, squeeze pages have actually been proved to be the less effective way for me.

For anyone who hasn't already decided, perhaps without even testing, that a squeeze page is what they need to use, there's a little more in this post (last few paragraphs) and in this one.

      Hey!

If you want the slow race, the choose free. If you want to leap frog, then get Optimize Press.

Also, you should choose Aweber as your auto responder service too. Those are the 2 paid 'must have's' for me.

So what makes you think having a free 90secondsqueezepage would be a slow race compared to optimize?

    Hi onekiwiman,

You will require to invest some funds in order to build a business. You may have to learn the hard way of going to do some research on youtube to source for some relevant videos that are relevant to your needs if funds are really an issue to you.

For driving traffic to your squeeze page, there are free and paid methods you can use. I personally prefer paid methods such as solo ads, etc as the conversion is higher than the free methods. Nevertheless, you should adopt both methods to drive traffic to your squeeze page.

There are lots of factors to determine the conversion such as your free offer, the copywriting, etc. You would need to test it out before you will know the stats of what It really converts well.

As for the content, I use both PLR and original content. But when dealing with PLR, I would suggest that you would rewrite at least some of your PLR content to make sure that you content is seen as original by the search engines.

This is just the first part of the equation as the next step is to how to build relationship with your list which is the second part of the equation.

I believe this is your business and like any start-up business, there are always going to take some time and effort to make it happen.

Let me know if you require further assistance.

Always use original and quality content in your site. As for backlinking, you need to also build quality backlinks through content distribution. You can do guest posting, press release submission and article submission. You may also do blog commenting and forum posting to related sites.

Hi. You can build a squeeze page entirely out of HTML. It is not that difficult. You just need to include a short centered bold description of the product and the Aweber code. You can also just create a static post for a squeeze page if you use Wordpress. There are a lot of different free options out there.

You really need to put something together yourself

Forget PLR and all that rubbish you will just damage your reputation before you have even started

If you put something together which is unique to you people will appreciate it much more

Before you start driving traffic make sure your list building system is set up first otherwise nothing is going to work on auto-pilot

Once you have your system set up then you can start driving traffic

videos, forums, your own blog, guest posting will be a good start

but the most effective traffic method is..... Link bait

Create killer content and you will be rewarded

I often spend 6 - 8 hours just on 1 article. These are the articles that will generate you traffic

I have to mirror what Alexa has stated before......I am getting some pretty good results from an opt in box within my content rather than using a squeeze page.

I have tried squeeze pages, popups and sidebar optins with varying success, so far my highest converting email capture form has been installed at the bottom of my content.

I use "head and footer" WP plugin to install a form at the bottom of every post and article on the site. All you need to do is copy and paste your autoresponder code in the plugin and you have an email capture form after every post.

If you can concentrate on creating quality content (which I am) it seems like a no brainer to opt in. Just my thoughts on what has worked for me.
