Thanks for these tips, I'll look into them shortly.

I would say that most books for making money (IM specifically) will usually always be a current newly published ebook from a respected author. The reason being that the landscape is changing so fast that print/traditionally published books will always be somewhat out of date by the time they reach you.

The Emyth Revisited by Micheal Gerber

This in my opinion if probably one of the best books on building a business out there.

Debt Free Forever by Gail Vaz-Oxlade

Not sure if they sell this in the US, because it is based on a Canadian TV series. But it is all about cashflow management, budgeting, saving money, setting up an emergency fund. Basically it is all about handling personal finances, but the princples and habits can apply to cashflow management for your business also.

Buffettology by Mary Buffet

This book is all about Warren Buffet's Investing Strategies written by his daughter-in-law. Sure this might be a book about investing, and even if you might not necessarily be interested in that subject, you will learn alot about business, you will learn alot about public perception and why you shouldn't follow it blindly, and you will learn alot about common sense, and why Warren Buffet is one of the wealthiest people on the planet. Sure alot of people claim to know why, or think they know why, but this book by his daughter-in-law (well actually she's not anymore) lays it out in very simple terms. Very great read, and has made me alot of money.

Getting Things Done by David Allen

It is not necessarily about making money but about how to manage your goals, projects, actions, etc and how to file all your information properly and helps you to learn how to keep multiple levels of commitments and responsibilities moving forward at the same time. I think this book is about the core habits of productivity and the base habit of focusing and being productive is what alot of IMers lack. So this book will help.

Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi

Again this is a book that is not necessarily about making money, but the habits that you learn from this book will make you money. It is all about networking, and how to maintain your network, grow your network, share your network, etc without coming across as a schmooze. This book is so above and beyond all the other networking books out there and I would highly recommend any IMer to read this book. It will definately give alot of people a strategy to get out from behind the computer screen and meet real people, lol.

- 4 Hour Work Week - Ferriss - Specifically Chapter 9-11, although very outdated in 2012 in terms of method, the general idea of "flipping the pyramid". You design the money making machine and let it do the drudgery while you only make the hard decisions.

- $100 Start Up - Guilleabeau - A distant cousin of th 4HWW, Chris is part of the new group of business guys - Ramit Seethi, Maneesh Sethi, Ferriss, Starak, Dan and Ian @ lifestyle business podcast, the guys @ Internet Business Mastery, Pat Flynn - (hucksters?) that are talking about how to create small businesses cheaply that can be done at home using the internet.

- The Long Tail - Anderson - Wired Editor talks about how the economy is moving to satisfying very particular tastes, the long tail. Amazon can beat every book store, because it essentially has infinite book shelf space, and can sell even the most unlikely title to people of very narrow interests. Mass Customization...

- Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill - It's a little dated nowadays, and most of the message has been absorbed by everyone in the small business/business/self help/personal discovery game

- How to Win Friends and Influence People - Dale Carnegie - the basics of salesmanship

- The Intelligent Investor - Benjamin Graham - the stock analysis is a bit dated, but the lessons of learning how to spot a bargain and what kind of businesses are actually attractive go beyond just buying securities. Benji was the teacher of Warren Buffett, the greatest Wall Street investor. I'd read Buffets and Munger's annual letters to Berkshire Hathaway as well.

Harvard Business Review Level

- The Innovator's Dilemma - Christensen - How big/mature organizations do come up with all sorts of ways to solve their customer's problems, but the solution to their customer's problem will destroy their own business.

- The Black Swan - Taleb - A difficult book to explain, and kind of hard to read and like the author, but essentially he writes about the tendency for people to depend on a "fact", build things on this "fact", and when the "fact" turns out to be untrue, and things fall apart, they look back and say it was "so obvious." (applies to business decisions as well as relationships)

"Getting Everything You Can Out of All You've Got: 21 Ways You Can Out-Think, Out-Perform, and Out-Earn the Competition", by Jay Abraham (published 2001). These principles and concepts have been taught in marketing classes in business schools for several decades. Jay Abraham has distilled time-tested basics for those with no formal business training, especially in sensible precautions to avoid wasting time and money.

  Honestly, I would forget specific "money making" books. The problem is, they tend to be either...
  
  A. Scams and/or questionable.
  
  B. Short term and can become outdated. I.e. real estate when it was hot. Look how fast the internet has changed. A making money on the internet book from 2000 isn't going to be the same in 2006 or 08, or 12.
  
  C. They hit a wall. I.e. the emyth series. Good, but then you wonder, where do you go from there.
  
  I would focus on smart people with principles that you can pick up. I was watching a documentary the other night "The 1 percent" by Jamie Johnson (who also did Born Rich). Of the Johnson and Johnson fortune. One of the guys in the 1 percent was Paul Orfalea (founder of Kinkos). Never heard of him. But smart guy, rich.
  
  Way more business smarts than 99% of the books you read. I think you have to pick up specific principles from certain people. Build your fortune from that. I don't think you'll get it from a blue print, per se.
  
  Charlie Mungers book "Poor Charlies Almanack" is excellent. He's Warren Buffett's partner. A lot of great money making principles in there. A great book on how to think strategically and smart.
  
  Common sense and logic can't be understated. Read about Warren Buffett.
  
  -One of the great principles of Charlie munger is, figure out what doesn't work. Then do the opposite. What wouldn't make you money?
  
  -Also, write down quotes that jump out at you from anyone you read/listen to/see. You'll be surprised how many you accumulate. Something that makes you do a double take. Also, go down the Forbes 400 list. Figure out the core principle behind each person there. It'll take some work. But you can learn from each person there.

I was thinking about getting copies for each one of my family members because this gem completely turned my life around.

If no one's read The Richest Man In Babylon then get it, you can find a cheap copy on Amazon or eBay. It doesn't matter how much money you make, in a few years from now what will matter most is how much you've kept, saved and multiplied and that's what this book teaches in its principles

  I'll add, I would look at *anybody* who is successful. If you see somebody worth X net worth, or they've got courtside tickets to the lakers, or they're on the Forbes 400, look at why they're so successful.
  
  For example, Aaron Spelling. He built a huge tv empire. He had many successful shows. There's an interesting documentary of him on youtube (I think 5 or 6 parts). His net worth was $200 million or something.
  
  -I'm paraphrasing, but he didn't make television for the "beverly hills and bel air crowd. He made it for ordinary people. Television is a peoples medium". The audience are your critics.
  
  You wonder why some of his shows were so popular...like Dynasty, Love Boat, etc. Why would rich people fighting be successful for so long (Dynasty). It almost seems too simple.
  
  It's a perfect translation online. Look at all the things that you wouldn't think would work, but do. I think they both tap into (tv and online marketing) simple desires. Great tv is....comedy, drama, romance. Online is wealth, health, etc.
  
  -Jeff Bezos I think has some great wisdom. He's worth....$15 billion or something??
  
  In one of the articles I read, one person that overwhelmed amazon's managers was "the empty chair". Bezos will periodically leave one seat open at a conference table and he informs the attendees that they should consider that seat occupied by their customer, "the most important person in the room".
  
  How many online marketers think like that? Probably not 1 in a 100. How would that change how you make decisions, if you left an empty chair to represent your customer when you make decisions.
  
  The problem with a lot of books is they are too cookie cutter. You need a way to think. That's whats valuable.

  You see his name a lot on here. He's one of the grand daddys of online marketing. He's been around a long time. Making money since the 70's.
  
  There was a video set of his "my life in marketing" on here, he explains his career. A good start if you've already read his books.
  
  -Warren Buffett I think is a must read for anyone wanting to make money (even if you aren't interested in investing or stocks). Roger Lowenstein's biography of him is excellent, The making of an american capitalist.
  
  For example, in his teens he owned farmland. He had a pinball machine business when he was in highschool. This was back in the 50's....even before he got into stocks he was making money.
  
  Maybe some Napoleon Hill or Tony Robbins for psychology. Bob Proctor and Jim Rohn are also pretty good. Tony learned from Jim, he has a lot of great wisdom.

Most people just look for new material to read up on, and do so for all eternity.

Anyway, with the above just stated, what I would recommended would be authors such as Dan Kennedy and Jay Abraham.
However I do not know what your skill level is, are you bare-skin new to the IM world or have you been "lurking" around WF and other forums?

^^ Lets just say I'm between NEWBIE & Intermediate who got lucky back in the day with Craigslist, Ebay, Adsense, Adwords, PPC, Blogging.

But lacking in these areas: list building, sales funnel (offer page, oto, etc), online sales.

Forget books and get a business mentor that is up to date with the latest techniques, books can date quickly but 1 on 1 training stays fresh as it taught in the moment.

If you want to read though and I do too I would advise "motivational" stuff over "make money", hope that helps!
