Did my site get penalized?

Hello,

Normally I would know if one of my sites is getting penalized, but this time I have some problems figuring this out..

Yesterday my website was indexed but not rankeed for the keyword, my articles with my links, my forum posts with my link and my bookmarks with my link was all ranked... TODAY Everything is gone.. My website, my articles, my posts, my bookmarks.. Everything thats reminding of my website is gone!

I don't know if this is just a bouncing-effect... It's brand new, and as I told you: Normally I would know if my site got penalized, but this time I have a hard time figuring it out, because I didn't do much advertising (like spam)..

When you say your site was indexed, do you mean it was actually in the Google index or do you mean that it showed on some page in the Google listings. They are not technically the same thing. If your site was new, as you said, Google could have done a quick crawl of it and it could have showed in the listings somewhere, but until the next time the index is updated, results like that can be pretty shaky. They do bounce around a lot.

But even if that happened, I'm not sure why your other stuff would vanish--they are all on different domains than your site. Are you saying that you had articles listed on some Google pages and they are no longer there as well?

I would wait a day or so. I mean it is very possible that they are changing some indexed pages or algorithms around and it could just be lost at the moment.

If this goes for a couple days I would def. research this a bit more. Have you done anything that would get it penalized?

Google page rank update happened yesterday and also shot a few of my sites down a few ranks.

If you was at zero-PR to start with then I'm assuming you could have been completely dropped.

Hello, guys, thanks for the replies...

No it was in the google index! All my forum posts, bookmarks and website is gone from the index now. I'm not talking about google listings, but the real google index.

- Okay the googlr PR update was yesterday, well maybe I should see what happens the next couple of days if I do some massive linkbuilding, because I cant understand the site is just... Gone

Google is definitely bouncing around alot at the moment due to the pagerank update BUt it still shouldnt just completely drop you out of the index. I would wait a few days and see if you pop back in. If not try:

SITE:sitename.com

If you get NO results then its likely that you could have been banned/removed from the index (this obviously doesnt apply if its a brand new site). Then you will have to work out what practice/link lead you to get banned and request a reinclusion which you can do using Google's webmaster tools. As a rule its best to stay away from:

Doorway Pages
Hidden Text
Cloaking
Spammed/junk Links
Et Al

Now if your talking about not ranking for any keywords it may just be that you have been placed in the Google Sandbox for a little while.

The same thing just happen to me on one of mine new sites. It showed as indexed rather quickly, then just a day or so after it shows that it has been indexed.

I imagine it will just take a few days for it to show back up. I just takes time.
