What exactly are SERPs? Use layman terms please.

Yes, it's a newbie question. I can pretty much Google things and figure out what/why/how by myself but I can't seem to wrap my brain around this. Figured one of you seasoned Warriors could explain it pretty easily.

      As I said - usually I am able to figure it out through Google. I DID Google it and was asking someone to help out with explaining it.

    SERP stands for search engine results page. It's simply the results that you get from google, yahoo or bing when you type in a search term.

        When you go to google.com and search for anything, the results you see that google displays on the page is your Search Engine Results Page (SERP).

    If I don't understand something, and I'm asking for help to understand it I'm lazy?

    I'm not an IM person. I use what I learn here to build up my website for my business. A small business that is surviving the economy because of hard work and the willingness to learn new things and implement them. This forum has been helpful in many ways.

    BUT I always hesitate to even participate on here because there are so many people here who are willing to take the time to make you feel like DIRT.
