If a site like Khan Academy was monetized, how much would it be worth?
I have learned quite a bit on that watching his great videos. He has made it free but has received in the last two years millions from Bill gates and Google so hire a team and run as a professional outfit. But how much would a site like Khan Academy be worth if he were to monetize it, which he has promised he will never do? When he first started out it use make $2000 from Adsense but soon took it off. But now its grown into a mammoth. The potential to sell educational material linked to it would be enormous.
But in his case, the value comes from teaching others for free and you can't put a price on that, from a sentimental point of view.
