Ideal delay time for "Likes Us on Facebook" pop up?

So, I'm using this widget and I'm wondering if you have any tips for increasing my "like" conversions. I tried 1 second pop up, but that doesn't work. Is it better to delay the pop up for a longer time to get more response?

    If the person has had a chance read your content then they'll have something to "like." If you're worried about people that will leave your site quickly, that shouldn't be a problem. If they don't want to stay on the page, the definitely won't like it.
    I'd look at the average time that visitors are staying on your site, and calculate the delay time based on that. (maybe cut the average time in half? try several different delay times)

      yes , that's very true, also one more thing, people hate POP UPS! i myself always click the X before i even read what's on it!
