Default RoadMap: How to Make $500 in 7 Days Writing Freelance Articles?

Looking for wisdom…

I created a previous thread on my Mission to generate $500 in a week on the net and today is the first of the next seven days to make it happen…

To my knowledge at this point, I think freelance article writing is probably an effective vehicle to take me where I’d like to go in the next 7 days. The option of freelance article writing has kind of been in front of me for a while but I haven’t seized the opportunities associated.

I think it’s a good route to go because writing has come naturally to me ever since I can remember and it looks like I can provide some big time value for those in need of written material while making some significant financial gains doing so…and also…I’m on an extremely limited budget so “free is good with me!” –check that rhyme! (I also thinks it’s more fun and challenging to make money with a $0 financial investment)

To give you a bit of a background…My writing interests include Personal Development + Health/Fitness + Business/Marketing + Adventure Seeking + Traveling.

The areas of my greatest understanding and knowledge include the subjects of Personal Development and Health/Fitness.

To slice the learning curve a bit…I was looking for the awesomest advice on the topic of freelance writing…

Here are a few questions as a basis:

·What/where are the best sources to find freelance projects associated with my areas of interest?

·What should beginning freelance writers look out for?

·Any challenges they should anticipate? What should they stay away from?

·If you were looking to hire freelance writers…where would you go first? Where else would you look?

·What would your ideal candidate be like for your freelance writing projects?

·Any freelance writing educational resources you’d recommend (both free and not)?

I truly appreciate all advice that you could provide not only pertaining to these questions but any other suggestions as well…

Thanks so much guys for taking the time to go out of your way to give your advice!

If you’re in need of any writing services…don’t hesitate to PM. I’ll provide you with a couple writing samples in my portfolio and anything else you need. I guarantee you’ll be happy with the results…no doubt about it…

Thanks…

-Anthony

You'll probably find some work right here in the WF as people are always looking for content. But one solid tactic I recommend to anyone with a service (writing, graphics, etc.) is to find someone who already runs such a business, provide them with some great samples, and ask them to refer you to someone who needs some reasonably priced outsource labor.

You may very well get picked up by one of the people you contact. If you give them $10 - $15 per page and they bill out $25 per page to their clients they might be happy to put you to work and thus leverage you as a new income stream.

Just a thought.

My best advice to you (As someone who now does this) Is to post that you want to give 5 people a few sample articles in return for reviews and critiques. You'll always find someone will want a free article or two, and they're usually more than willing to tell you how you can improve and they may just pay you for more.

Take those testimonials, and put it on your site or your offer, and just start marketing it. I've made over $400 in the past few days, with one permanent client who has said he has many projects for me to do for him.

Another thing you can do, is not just write articles, but learn to do some copywriting, and offer to rewrite peoples websites. Bundle that in packages, or more, you can offer to write ebooks and reports for people, as thats something most people will want to outsource.

If you can, find Jason Fladiens ghostwriting course. Its a fantastic video course for about $17 that teaches you how to do all the things you want as a freelancer (from writing faster to getting your first client) and its well worth the money.

Plus a quick tip, add your picture to your profile. Its a little thing, but it can mean a big difference in client pick ups and just general interest in what you do here.

Other than that, you can message me on skype or whatever else if you have more questions and want a 1 on 1.

So basically, do not look for work here, unless you want to work for slave wages.
Dunno about you michael, but I'm not working for slave wages.

Hi,

I'm doing freelance writing as well. But I haven't reached that goal of $500 a week yet. Not enough time to write plenty of articles. Right now, I'm looking at other ways to generate income such as CPA networks. Writing has become exhausting at some point. Maybe I'm just burned out.

It happens christa, soemtimes you just have to sit back and look at other options. Not a lot of people can sit and write for hours and hours like I, and many other freelancers, do to keep up our income.

When it comes to freelance writing, be prepared to disregard those people who are looking for something for nothing. It's true. The lion's share of inquiries will come from folks looking for perfectly written, totally unique, articles for $1/page. But don't let that discourage you.

Fact is, everyone involved in IM is your potential customer. Keep in mind that there are quite a few successful people in this business who do know the value of good freelance writers and are willing to pay for it. They will also be looking for a long-term relationship, if you perform well. As long as you can keep your eye on your goal, remain patient in building your business over time, get used to saying NO to the One Buck per article seekers, and produce quality deliverables, you will be successful.

You are making this work at home stuff way harder than it is. Ready for some sanity? Clear your head and start over.

Thanks for all of your suggestions so far...

What about freelance sources where I can find projects?? Any specific freelance project sources you can identify to check out?

Thanks!

I don't try to compete with those people. What I do is not a commodity, and I'm not competing on price. I will happily compete on value. If a person knows how to use articles properly, I'm a bargain. If all they're looking for is something to use for backlinks, then hiring me would be a waste of money.

I have a client who very happily pays me fifty dollars for a five hundred word blog post, because he knows how to get many times his invest back with his blog. I'm currently booked solid with work from people here at the forum without every advertising, so it can be done.

Justin...how did you first attract the business on WF? Did you post to classifieds?

Thanks...

You can try posting a WSO here. Write articles then sell them to warriors. or another way to get freelance projects is to sign up to freelancing websites. There are a lot in the internet. Just google them up. You have to note, however, the you will be competing on a global scale. There are people who offer their services for $1-$2 an article.

Good luck!
