CNBC Styled Interviews

Just wondered if anyone out there has used the "news-style" video-interview to generate sales?

My concern is it can look a little contrived? Anyone care to shares their experiences?

I don't see internet gurus doing this in their sales video so I would not do this myself.

You can test it out to see what kinds of conversions you are seeing with this strategy.

Let us know how it works.

I personally have no experience with using interviews to generate sales.

But I know that Mike Tomas, at Mike From Main , does advertise/offer his sites in-front of his interviews. You should go and ask him to see how well it converts.

I haven't done it, but I think it would work. People are drawn to sources of information that has that "authority" factor. This is why people still watch/read the news. It'll make your target audience believe your claims.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Like the other guy said, that approach would establish you as an authority. It shouldn't be hard to do. Just write out a script of questions you'd have someone ask you along with your answers. It shouldn't cost much to find someone to film the whole thing and edit it.

Allot of infomercials have used this technique. From what I can remember seeing on TV, it seemed most of these were in health related niches. ex:magic pills

In my opinion, they have a bad reputation.

Pushing interviews in a professional idea is a great idea but you need to keep your users engaged and make sure the cost of filming will cover the cost of goods sold when you examine the bottom line.
