When promoting sites with adult content, is the webmaster always obliged to include an age restricted warning at point of site entry? Furthermore, is there a ratings website that can make a legal judgement whether or not a particular webpage falls in to a restricted category? Sometimes the line here is a fine one.

My other query involves Google rankings and if these are affected when a website with adult content happens to rank highly for a keyword/s that may not be compatible with the said site's content rating.

Advice appreciated.

Good question, I honestly dont have an answer for you though.

I think the sites that try to come across more 'professional' in this industry have an age lock, but otherwise I dont think they are required.

Honestly, even a safe search can turn up un-desirable results without warning on Google, this leads me to believe you don't need a warning/age lock.
