health and money making niches i think are one of the niches thousands of people are looking for everyday.

but in my own opinion i suggest you go for your area of interest.

you can make money from any niche which you've chosen

Niche selection can make or break you.

Choose the right one for you...enjoyment & greater possibility of profits. Choose wrong & you'll find it hard to remain motivated, frustrated & little profit as a result.

I always try to ensure my potential niche meets the 4Ps' ....
1. Profitability-Are people already spending money in this market
2. Passion-Is it something I already enjoy or have an interest in learning
3. Persistence-Can I see myself continuing in this niche when things get tough
4. Popular-Is it in one of the Big Three (Health & Welness, Financial or Money, Personal Development)
Keep it simple, keep searching & you'll find one that suits you

  If I were just starting out (I may do it any) I would get into games.
  
  "Games" is very broad and there is tons of money in them.
  
  I used to promote game guides. In the beginning they were very easy to promote and profitable. The niche changed and I got more into promoting CPA offers like free sign-ups.
  
  I love CPA because once the action is committed (except in the case of rare fraud) the money is yours. No refunds, no charge backs, no customer hassles.
  
  So, I would build a games site and promote CPA offers.

  RogueOne, your points are valid but I think you may be understating the difficulty of a newbie attempting to make ANY money online these days.
  
  Market saturation is one thing but by properly positioning yourself in ANY market, ANYONE can get their piece of the pie.
  
  Marketing is a skill that needs to be developed...no sense doing something you don't enjoy for the sake of a buck....that's what work is for

For inspiration, you can check the ClickBank marketplace. You will find tons of profitable niche markets in there and couple it with Google Adwords Keyword tool to help you find your 'goldmine.'

no sense doing something you don't enjoy for the sake of a buck

No sense trying to break into a market that you don't stand a chance in.

Compare success stories to failures and see how well these niches did. Read this forum a little and you will get the answer.

Beginners will have a much better chance in a small or micro niche. Why try to run with the big boys in a niche you can't compete in, when you can dominate a smaller niche?

Choosing a topic is one of the most difficult processes of any new start up. Here's a section of my course that talks about how to go about choosing a topic. (It's directed toward Kindle publishing, but you can take the info and use it to help you pick a topic for any venture)

To kick your brainstorming sessions into high gear, do the following:
Jot down all topics that you are personally interested in or experienced in. What do you do for a living? Are you a teacher? There may be a demand for books on how to teach children to read. Are you a plumber? How about a DIY book on fixing your own water leaks.
The possibilities here are really very personal and specific to you as a person. Chances are, if you already know a lot about a certain topic, writing a book on it wouldn't be too hard.
Get creative. Think of every aspect of your life. Your work, your marriage, your children, your hobbies, etc.
Go to your local drug store (or any store that has lots of magazine racks) and check out popular how-to and advice magazines to find out what is trending. Check out the headlines on the cover, as well as the T.O.C. inside. I usually find plenty of great ideas by doing this. (Think Parenting Magazine or Prevention)
There is literally a sea of topics you can find this way in every imaginable niche and micro niche on the planet. And the best part about this method is you can find out what is currently HOT. Magazine editors thoroughly research their article topics before publishing....they know what is trending at the moment. Take some pointers from their topics.

Also, going to Amazon and doing a bit of searching on what is currently trending in the books sections can be a great way to not only pick a great topic, but pick a hot topic.

Rather than trying to sell a product right now, do you have any skills that you can market as a service? A bit like the the old "don't pan for gold, sell picks and shovels instead" saying.

Just make sure that it's something that you enjoy doing, and that might build into a sustainable business in the end?

Much better than just grabbing a random niche.. as Steve Russell says, it's really difficult to crack a product niche in just about any market for a beginner these days!

so the popular niches are hard to break into? I'm not surprised. As a newbie, I believe that there are new niches and topics I can talk about all the time. Maybe I'm wrong, lol

I think another aspect is the key words available, it is difficult to SEO if everyone else is using the same key words?

If I can't any niche markets worth doing then what if I start a personal blog? pick something interesting or just about my life. Surely everyone is unique?

Funny enough I used to go to tekken tournaments so potentially I can talk about that, but because my knowledge about IM is so poor, I'm not sure how I can generate enough value to get traffic going.

I'm gonna tell you two of my moneymakers which have been very profitable for me this year. They have their places in my "best of 2012" list for sure :rolleyes: These markets will continue growth next year, and will probably show faster and bigger growth.

These are also great for beginners, because they're fun.

Here's my short list:

- Anything related to games. I always thought PC and/or PS3 games were the most profitable. But web-based games seemed more popular in the last months. Great genre for AdSense, CB and Amazon.
Best monetizing method: Work smarter and make those gaming companies buy ad space on your website.

- TV series. This one is probably one of the best-kept secrets in the IM jungle :rolleyes: It's one of my best discoveries in ages. You can't believe how many IM superstars (and which of them) have online properties in this.
There are tons of ways and methods and strategies of making real good money if you have a website (or preferably more) in this market.

Also, health related issues, family issues, anything related to being wealthy and sexy still continue being sweet moneymakers.

Do you have a niche already? Meaning is there already a hobby, product or "thing" you do simply because you enjoy it? I'd start there. My top money maker in 2012 (after writing as a service) was an oddball for most people -- raising chickens

I know a lot about them, have several heritage breeds for pets and enjoy writing about them, so they are a good niche for me. People come to my sites for info and can buy a coop (via amazon) or click an ad (cj) or buy coop plans and guides (cb), so there are a lot more options for generating income than you might think

Never seen a chicken in person? Not a good niche for you!
I don't have broadcast or cable TV, so I would be lost trying to write about popular programs, since I can't tell you what any of them are! But as mentioned above, others do make a nice income writing about or marketing items related to a television genre or program.
TL DR version: Pick a niche you like to start with, learn the ropes and see what works.
