Need targetted traffic and sales

Hi , i recently launched a travel forum so would like to know what i should do in order to generate traffic, listings and sales

Apart from Social media and SEO what steps should i take

    First of all, feature some awesome content on the forum. Afterwards use some affordable PPV and Media Buys to generate traffic. That traffic will generate users. Users will generate content which will eventually generate massive amounts of indexed links. Those indexed links will be ranked for long tail keywords and bring in some organic traffic.

    Once you have some awesome content and a serious 'community' going on, post awesome pictures (of beautiful travel locations) on social networks with a link attached to it. This link should then direct the traffic towards a tread (content piece) related to the picture posted on the social network. This will generate a limited bounce rate and more page views.

    For forums the best suggestion I can ever come up with is PostLoop. I wrote a postloop payment proof lens on squidoo but it mentions to webmasters how powerful the site is (it has my referral link if you would like to help me, and it will mean a lot to me, and I stay in contact with my referrals through the site and can give tips if you want to earn as well as get traffic there).

    It is an excellent source of starting traffic for your forum - just make sure while you are paying or posting on others forums to get points for posts, you are also promoting your forum to people.

    You diffidently need forum marketing, search for related forums, join, build a profile with link back to your forum, and a signature with also a link back to your forum. then join some discussions and post new helpful threads.

    also will be a great idea to start a blog, or a few blogs and always link to your forum
