Here's how you get free traffic..

In his recent post Jarrett inspired me to give some of my traffic tricks away so everyone can benefit. Not only that but he reminded me of a strategy I used last year when I first started affiliate marketing.

This method involves Facebook, so anyone feeling antisocial should look away.

As hard as it might be to believe, there are people out there that are not involved in IM. Kinda weird, huh?

There are some really passionate about 'stuff' that really like to stay up to date with everything about that certain 'stuff'. These people also like to get in touch with other people that share their interest. Their common interest usually develops into a community.

These so called communities, are called Pages on Facebook ...revolutionary stuff, huh?
Don't worry, it'll get better.

The best part of it, is that you can bank in any niche out there. It doesn't even have to be a particular niche, just similar content.

Well ...here's how this strategy works:

1. Find a suitable page

The page you're looking for needs to poses three essential characteristics:

- a page with a large fan base (a whole lot a' Likes).

- the community has to be active; try to find a page where every post has at least a few Shares, Comments and Likes.

- the page owner must NOT poses a website/blog. The chances are that if he already has an established blog or website he's already monetizing the traffic or selling ad space.


You can find such pages in any niche possible.

Note: Stay away from popular niches like IM and health/fitness. These pages are usually ran by marketers that have no intention of giving their traffic up to someone else.

After you make sure that the owner is just an enthusiast, and has no intention on monetizing the page, you...

2. Contact the owner!

This is easy, you just send him a private message.

Some pages might block their 'Private message' option, those are the pages you have to forget about in most cases.

But, if a page has this option enabled, you know for sure that:
- the owner is looking forward to chatting with other enthusiasts.
- the owner is opened to suggestions ideas.

Now, let's give him an idea and...

3. Make him an offer he can't refuse.

Simply contact the owner and present him with this opportunity:

Give him free, quality content in exchange for a LINK placement in each post you create for him. These posts can range from related YouTube videos you might find on the subject, pictures, articles, quotes and so forth...


Quick Tip: You might like to bring in some quotes and funny pictures from time to time; those tend to go viral pretty easy. A post with a lot of shares will get more shares, and friends of those that shared will share... you get the picture.

WARNING: I first came up with this strategy last year for some affiliate promotions.
But, because landing pages and sales letters are not Facebook's favorites, and because Facebook users are not in a buying state of mind but rather content seekers, this will pretty much not end well if you try to sell them something.

So, this technique can be used with great success if you try to bring in some extra traffic to your site. If the link brings the traffic to a page with content related to that in the post he arrived from initially, your bounce rate will go down considerably. This can also be used for your Alexa rankings, if such things interest you.

Monetizing!

After my affiliate fiasco, I introduced this method to some friends of mine who used it to drive traffic to their AdSense sites. And guess what!? ...they brought home the bacon.

Because you can drive as much traffic as you want, as long as you are willing to work for it, you don't need to do any keyword research. As long as you have related content and related ads on your sites, you will bank.

Now, because I don't deal with AdSense sites, I have no idea how much you can earn per day. The one thing I know, is that my friends are still driving traffic this way, and their not short of cash. From what I know they have $20 days and $200 days.
You probably won't become a millionaire in the next few months using this method, but you can certainly cover up some costs around the house.

Google banned me from the AdSense service back when I had a tattoo blog with content they considered to be 'adult material'. And I'm not planning on going back any time soon. So I'm not an expert...
