I've purchased a lot of domains from them in the past 5 or so years, and have had nothing but great experiences. Do a search for them here on the forum... you'll find that they are one of the better registrars out there.

If they are so superior why can't they invest in some servers that can handle traffic when they have a deal on like GoDaddy can.

My sentiments exactly! Say whatever you like about Godaddy but at least they can handle the traffic spike. To be honest this is not the first time something like this has occurred with Namecheap.

Definitely this is a bargain. My problem tho is namecheap's webhosting plans. I want a one-click WP installation. I don't want too much tech activities to host it in another webhosting company. I'm not too techie about it. Too much trouble for me.

Does someone knows where can I host my planned domain that is WP-friendly and cheap besides namecheap?

Any, suggestion on this.

HostGator is WP friendly, but it's better security wise to manually install WP instead of using one-click installation because they use the same default WP_ database prefix.

The key is to select your domain and add it to your
cart a few minutes BEFORE the start time for the
offer.

Then, in another browser window, refresh the offer
page to get the coupon code and then type that
into the coupon code box in the cart in the other
window.

Then choose Express Checkout.

Otherwise, you get slowed down when all the
traffic hits the site at the start of the offer.

They must be getting slammed right now, because I've been having trouble getting to the checkout page, even after trying multiple times. As they are also a webhost, you would think that they'd be better prepared to handle little traffic spikes like this (especially as they knew about it in advance)!

I can't get a domain into my cart. There needs to be some kind of distraction, to divert attention away from this domain sale, thus reducing the load on Namecheap's server(s)..

I just grabbed some domains on name cheap and did not have a problem as of 7:38 EST. They should have know it would be a big rush traffic selling domains for only .98

Still no luck. Gotta keep reloading, I guess, or brew a pot of coffee and then check back. It wouldn't surprise me if they extended the deal since they're getting hit so hard. I don't have any problems with Namecheap -- I switched over from 1and1 not long ago. Eh, GoDaddy... I got sick of the endless upsells when all I wanted was a $#!@ domain name.
