Permission and screen capture software?

If you are creating a training video that you intend to sell, and you use a screen capture software, do you get permission to show product images and videos? Basically, let's say I am creating a training video on search engine optimization, and I use a screen capture of Google's or some other company's product (software), do I need to get permission?

That would fall under the "Fair Use" portion of Copyright law.

I can't imagine ANY company objecting to tutorial videos showing their product, although they might require a clause in your material stating "All Trademarks are properties of their respective owners" and/or "This training material is not sponsored or endorsed by XX Company".

LoL. Thanks. Didn't think the answer would be so simple.

You should be good. I'm not a lawyer but most people would enjoy the free publicity. Do add the clause though like Karen said.

I agree with what everyone else has said so far. ..Besides, which company wouldn't want free brand exposure?
