Hey guys, I think it would great if we share how we discovered internet marketing.

Here my story:

At the time I was in the middle of a real estate transaction and notice I didn't receive a certain document in my email.

So I called the title company to ask them to resend it, the Secretary told me to check my SPAM folder it may be there.

Digging around in my spam folder I came across a subject line something like this "MAKE $78435.23 IN 2 DAYS A THE PUSH OF A BUTTON".

Curious I click on the link in the email that went to a long sales page that had terms I never heard of like SEO, Back linking, Niche Sites, and PPC etc.

Since that day I knew IM was an industry I wanted to be apart of.

I found IM about 5 years ago after an eye opening DUI stranded me at my parents house with a suspended license. That's when I discovered Travis Sago's Bum Marketing Method and I was hooked. That 90 days changed my life forever in so many ways.

  I was still in high school and interested in a way of generating income that didn't mean I'd have to work at a basic part time job. I searched Google for ways of making money online as so many people do and I cam across the concept of filling out surveys.
  
  It was history there on out. I soon figured out that doing surveys and similar incentive programs produced pennies and that the real money was in selling my own or someone else's product. That lead me to affiliate marketing and I jumped on the bum marketing bandwagon really quick.

I failed at network marketing what they tell you to do, thought hey maybe id be successful at this if i learn marketing, started to learn marketing led to internet marketing kuz i was researching online..now i dont even do network marketing maybe one day down the road..I like IM better.

I have always been a tech geek. My wife is currently a 2nd grade teacher and wants to think about staying home with our kids. I started looking around the Internet and discovered I.M. That was about 18 months ago and I love every aspect of it. I have made more mistakes than I would like to admit, but am starting to see some real results and love learning every day.

I created a website for my final year project at university. Really enjoyed sharing my passion with the world, last year I decided to monetize it

I started 'making money online' around 16 years ago though, selling design services to Drum n Bass promoters

I got started back in December of 2002 so next month reaches my 10th year online.

Back in 2000-2001 I knew I did not want to work for anyone else for the rest of my life so I decided to do something. Tried all sorts of things offline. Those did not work too well.

So I went online and searched for something to get started with. That is when in December of 2002, I started my journey.

My full story can be found in my sig file but in short I found out about the world of online marketing about 8 months ago and have been interested and consumed by it ever since.

I think my introduction to IM came from this forum actually!

I started making money online long before I knew about internet marketing. I initially made a full time living from online casino bonuses and sports betting but it became more and more tricky with casinos and sports books becoming wiser and making life difficult. After that I made money from a few different money makers I came across but none were sustainable. Eventually I heard of internet marketing from someone I met on my travels who ran a few affiliate sites and freelanced and I knew from that moment it was something I was interested in. He shared a few forums with me where I found out information on IM and making money online and I started on it soon after.

  I use to download new movie from torrent sites (shh I didn't say that ). One day I wanted a new movie so bad but couldn't find any site with a great quality.
  
  Until after a long search I found a website that had a sample of the movie. So I downloaded the sample and then I saw two notepad files in the document. One was how to get the rest of the movie by paying a small fee and the other was titled how to make money online for free.
  
  Having no money at the time I decided to check out the file and it was about signing up to ptc websites and clicking on 30 second ads for $0.01 for every one I view. Not only that, whenever I refer someone and they view an ad I also earned $0.01 for their efforts.
  
  After weeks of viewing I was able to cash out at $20 lol. That was the first money I made online. The good part though was that while I was viewing ads I saw lot of affiliate marketers advertising their squeeze pages and I would sign up for their free report to learn about affiliate marketing.
  
  This was back in 2007-2008. The rest is history!

I dabbled around from 1997 to 2007 with AOL and Myspace, then in 2007, needing a new career after leaving the gas station business, I searched Start Internet Business and came across Carbon Copy Pro, joined them in Oct 2007 and made $3K my first month reselling their product, 6 months later I formed my own Internet Marketing Company to help business owners and the rest is history....still with PROU and working with business owners and now have my own course to teach people the same. :-)

I was making trying to get Facebook likes for my blog (never thought of making money with it) and came across Pat Flynn's Smart Passive Income Blog. I read a few articles and got hooked and ever since I've been into internet marketing.

I think I started wanting to become a stock investor. So i researched a lot and i loved it, but I also discovered the major difference between the financial field and the business field; business is way more exciting. Then sooner or later I started liking business and is researched a lot about it and sooner or later I found myself focusing in the internet side of business.

I used to do light carpentry for extra cash. One time I asked a customer how they heard about me and they said they got my contact information from a usenet post. Somebody pleased with my work had recommended me. Well, it didn't take long for me to figure out that the internet could be used to communicate with potential customers.

In spring of 2010, I was between freelance video editing gigs and was looking for extra online work for additional income because of the fluctuating availability for video work.

I came across a "Make $500 a week writing articles" page, tried my hand at spinning articles with no success, and eventually discovered this forum. I ended up in a corporate office job in the fall of 2010 and sorta gave up IM for a while.

At the beginning of 2012, I picked up IM again and moved onto list building. I was laid off from my corporate job back in the summer and I now make my full time income online.

I couldn't be happier.

  Put adsense on a blogger blog I had created for school around 2008. Saw some clicks go through due to viral academic interest and I thought "Oh shit, what if I just expanded on this?" The rest is history
  
  **Oddly enough though my very first IM course online was a vague as hell guide to creating your own products by Perry Belcher. I was given this html stuff that I had NO idea in the world how to use. $37 down the drain for that particular project, but the very idea of making it online really stirred my interest.

I started selling products online in 2002 (ebay mostly) Then I got into affiliate marketing in 2005. A Data Entry ad on Google got me started. I remember thinking... If I can just make one sale with this. It works and I only need to get better. I haven't looked back since...

Hi Ej! Thanks for sharing! I discovered internet marketing for searching for another way to

become successful. I was browsing the web using search engines to search "work from

home" and "make money online" in google. Well the first site I discovered was project

payday. I used to say it was a waste of time. That was the wrong way to look at it though.

It wasn't a waste of time it was just a pit stop I had to make on my way to success.

Needless to say it didn't work out for me. I began thinking all online income sources were

a big scheme until I ran across Chris Farrell. I made it easy for me to wrap my mind

around what I needed to do to be successful in this business. Now not only do I know the

process of making money online, but even more importantly I know how to teach it.

I hope this reaches everyone well.

I was playing with email messages and sending cartoons to my friends when I thought that the internet could probably be used for something more profitable.

Then, I looked for ways to make money online at Google. I found the lies of my first internet marketing mentor. He taught me that I only had to be able to click my mouse in order to make money online all the time, even when I was sleeping.

I became his subscriber and I read all his messages, very interested on what he was saying. Then, I bought his ebooks.

Then, I had the idea to publish my own ebooks online.

Then, I started learning the real truth about internet marketing…

For me, I like games very much and one day I was looking for an answer for a problem about a game (it was Prince Of Persia) and I found the answer on Yahoo answers and I found a link to how to make money online using PTC. Then I started my search on how to make money online and here I am.
