Preparing for the biggest launch ever!!

Hey guys,

I am planning to launch a gaming guide for a product that comes out 9 months from now.

I launched a gamers guide for the same product last August and made $1,200 in the first two weeks from search engine traffic alone. And this was just traffic to 1 sales page website.

I am planning on expanding the website and add a blog and forum to gain subscribers and build a large community.

I am looking for different tactics to build on my brand and how i should prepare for a huge launch in August 2013.

Here is a few things I though of...

Keep building a list with PPC advertising
Add a forum
Add a blog (post 2-3 times a week)
Guest posting
Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
Press Releases
Add affiliate program

    Start doing the following now:

    Go to the gaming forums and start building relationships with the owners or regular contributors. (With the idea of getting them to promote or offer you a reduced price on advertising)

    Book advertising slots in advance for the days leading to and during the release of the game (Booking them early gets steep discounts)

    Hunt down popular Facebook Pages related to gaming and do the same as above.

    Find blogs that are currently promoting gaming products and start building relationships with owners so you have an instant tap of affiliates.

    Hope this gives you a few ideas,

      There was a guy on the forums talking about all the things he did for his Diablo 3 gaming guide launch. Search around a bit and see if you can find that.

      I remember he shared the link with his site and it was really really good. He ranked high organically for a lot of keywords, and I believe he complimented that with a PPC campaign.

      That would probably give you a lot of ideas.

      Then, you could also just google the top Diablo 3 gold guides and then do some reverse engineering on those sites to get some additional ideas. What banklinks did they get? What YouTube videos did they create? How did they design their squeeze pages?

    Hey willisk, incorporate some article marketing and Youtube marketing into the mix, and consider making a blog post everyday - instead of every 2-3 days.

    so how did you write a guide for a game you are unsure on what it is about 100% etc

    Good stuff Willisk. I'd be buying up as many affordable domain names that are relevant to the game (without breaking copyright) and do redirects. Corner the market! Good luck.

    definitely go strong in the social marketing route! grow your fan base across all the networks, these are super viral traffic sources, the more they talk about your product, the more you get shared, the more authority you have in Google's eyes
