how can i cloak my clickbank affiliate link?

hello my friends,
i want to know how can i cloak my clickbank affiliate link without having my own site to do so, is there any sites or programs can cloak the link ?

Re: how can i cloak my clickbank affiliate link?

You can use any of the URL shorteners like bit.ly, goo.gl, tinyurl.com etc, but you really should use your own site because you ultimately have no control over what the URL shorting services will do to your links (including deleting them)

With apologies for the dispiriting tone, if you don't have your own site (not even a one-page blog, not even a squeeze page) to do so, it isn't going to make a whole lot of difference how you do it, because the prospects for any ClickBank sales are minimal anyway. This post explains why: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7110523

But, to answer your question, a good way to do it is by using a registrars' redirect from a .info domain-name (no hosting or site needed - cost about $3/$4).

Don't use an unnecessary third-party url-shortener/cloaker like bit.ly, tinyurl or whatever: that's all downside and risk, and no benefit. (There are 30+ threads here explaining why).

Most URL shortners block affiliate links.

I suggest if you are using Wordpress use Pretty Link Lite to cloak your affiliate links!

Yes ... this is why you have the problem.

Free hosting for a little site is easy (000WebHost.com, or Byethost.com, or Freehostia.com). It's going to be very difficult to make any ClickBank sales without one, for the reasons given in the thread linked to above. ClickBank probably isn't the right opportunity for you, with a free Blogger blog, which may, in any case, be short-lived, if you have a ClickBank link on it. Is there some way you can find the $3/$4 to register a domain? It would solve your starting problems.

Get your own website and redirect a blank page on your site to the affiliate offer.

You can use,

Use your own cloaking software on your own domain. It works a lot better plus you have full control of your links.

Without having a website?
Follow these 3 simple steps.
1. Register a blog on blogger.com
2. Create a blank page in blogger (see screenshot)
3. Copy the below code into page html (see screenshot)
HTML Code:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 TRANSITIONAL//EN">
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>Please wait while we redirect you ...</TITLE>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" CONTENT="0;URL=http://www.google.com"></HEAD>
<BODY>
Please wait while we redirect you ...
<BR><BR>
Click <A HREF="http://www.google.com">here</A> if your browser does not automatically redirect you in a second ...
</BODY>
</HTML>

NOTE: Replace www.google.com with you aff. links
Create as many as you want pages for your affiliate links.
1 page = 1 redirect

There is one famous way to do this.

Just go to:

TinyURL.com - shorten that long URL into a tiny URL

If I were you, I would get my own website and make sure to grab people's name and email for effective follow up.

Re: how can i cloak my clickbank affiliate link?

You can use free online link cloakers to do this, one is bit.ly or tiny.url. If you are using a WP blog, there's a WP plugin that can automatically cloak your links as you post them online. :)

for bit.ly or tiny.url - I heard that affiliate links are removed. Can you confirm whether or not it does?

When you say "redirect" you mean a 3rd party cloaker or one your hosting company provides?

Add Twinbox an addin to your outlook that allows you to tweet from outlook. Then add your clickbank link there and hit the shrink url button and it will do for you. Copy and paste it to wherever you need it. Send the tweet if you want also.

you can download free here
TwInbox - Use Twitter directly from Outlook.

I use tinyurl.com for almost everyone of my affiliate links, its not hard at all, copy and paste your offer link and paste it and then tinyurl will do the rest.

but tinyurl,com will just shrink the link but will not hide the affiliate link and the hop id and that will make the visitors know that the link is an affiliate link

Besides which, it makes absolutely no sense at all to rely on the continuity, survival and reliability of a totally unnecessary third-party url link-shortener. There are 50+ threads here discussing and explaining this in detail. Tinyurl is actually one of the very ones with which so many Warriors have had "accidents" in the past, but the principle is the same whichever one we're talking about.

Question, do Clickbank object to doing a passthrough (I'm using plugin Redirection) to an affiliate link?

This is an iFrame I presume.

It depends what you mean by "object".

Here's what they say ...

Quote:

To ensure proper tracking of your HopLink referrals, your HopLink needs to open into the top level of a new or existing window. For most affiliates, this is not a problem. However, some affiliates attempt to hide their HopLinks by having them open into other types of sub-window objects, such as frames, iframes, layers, applets, or images. These types of HopLinks are considered invalid, and can result in lost affiliate referral credit, incorrect display of your website, or, in the case of abuse of the HopLink system, could result in account termination without notice.

You can use Bit.ly or Google URL shortener to cloak your link. I believe clickbank actually encrypts the hop link once you click generate anyway.

However, you really want to personalise your links, then Easy Redirect Script by Rapid Crush is excellent.

Hope that helps.
Regards,
Azu.

I'd recommend tinyurl.com, they will know that it is an affiliate link after the redirect of course though, if they still shield the link at all.

If you use Chrome browser, their is a extension for it called,>>> TWurl Url Shortener/Expander with QR codes <<< so if you ever need to shorten your url you can do so right in the address bar.

Using an online free URL shortner service is like playing the lottery. Sometimes it works, sometimes they remove the affiliate part, and sometimes they add their own affiliate code to it. Do you really want to play Russian roulette with your affiliate business?!

Use smart.ul I think it was. Or you can use bit.ly. But, if you mean cloaking your affiliate from theft of commission which is why you want to cloak it, I would use pretty link it's a plugin.

pretty link plugin is premium plugin which means that i need to pay to use it for cloaking and masking my affiliate link

fallenlight, did you read Alexa's comment?

If you want to go down the cloaking route, then expect Clickbank to either revoke your commissions and/or terminate your account.

So you don't want to have your own site to do so? I take it meaning you don't want your own domain to do redirect ($13 or less). I'd have to say a plug in called pretty link since you mentioned the platform WordPress. Pretty link does cloak your link.

Sounds like you're looking for something to where it doesn't read the affiliate link and only reads the main site therefore you can get credit for your affiliate re-direct and not be penalized (recognized) for using an affiliate link. I'd suggest you just hyper link your link to say click here or whatever your keyword is; as hyper linking is a form of cloaking.

What is wrong with getting a link tracking account form a site like clickmeter.com? I think you really want to be tracking your links anyway. You get 1000 clicks for free when you sign up with them. Check it out ClickMeter: Click tracking, Link tracking, AD tracking

Since 2009 I have used a Free tool called acloacker.com to hide my affiliate links.
The good thing about acloaker is it hides the affiliate link in the browser bar , -which had previously been a problem with other methods I had used such as php redirects.

yakim1 5th March 2013 01:39 PM

Re: how can i cloak my clickbank affiliate link?

The problem isfallenlight is still going to fall without his own domain. He can use free services like tinyurl but when I get an email advertising a product without mentioning the name of the product and uses a redirect like tinyurl, I just delete the email. Marketers are so lazy with their emails that they give no information or preselling in their emails.

Some people don't like to read long emails. In that case just put a link to the product at the top of the email but go on to explain why I should look at the product you are recommending.

I'm sorry for the rant when the question was for a cloaking software, but the kind of redirect fallenlight will need because of no website are bad to use because many have been black listed.

So fallenlight is looking for a fix to a problem that is by far a the cause for a new problem.

I hope this has been helpful,
Steve Yakim
