Hi.
I would like to put some training videos onto my IM Blog site. What would you recommend? In the past I just used YouTube, which works fine in most cases. But the quality of the videos is not the best. Alternatives could be: Viddler Screencast.com S3 What is your experience to host a high quality video? How do you encode the video? Flash? Thanks for your feedback. Dan |

Hi Dan,
I use Video Web Wizard, convert them to FLV and it creates all the code which I then just embed in my web page. Dead simple, no hassles and it has the quality I want! Downside is it uses your bandwidth. I have been hearing good things about Amazon S3 though haven't used it yet myself. All the best Jason |

Viddler
Screencast.com S3 Viddler is excellent quality for a free resource. Screencast will give you free account but will start charging after you hit a certain point. I do like their easy use, but it's expensive after a bit. S3 is fine, but you will be charged based on usage. Can be just a few cents - depends on how much you have loaded and how much is getting watched. I have a site now, which came with a plugin to run vids on site, but that is probably way more than you want to invest in for now as it is for paid members type sites. QuickTime Embed Might be of interest to you. I'm sure there are some auto add plugins as well, but you will need to ask your server to up the 2mb file size that tends to be the limit of those types of plugins. |

Hey Dan,
Actually, YouTube's HD option keeps your videos looking pretty good - even at full screen. I've been using it with a lot of success lately. Derek |
