First, I don't really have any extra knowledge than any one else, the extra knowledge which I have I learnt it on the internet. so there's no way for me to start websites because I will just be spinning content.

so I decided to try and start a niche website but I have a mindset problem where just at the end of the keyword research stage I stop give up and say to myself 'this niche is too competitive, there's no point trying; I'll just be wasting time and money on web hosting and a domain name'.

this can be traced back to my first go to my first go at a website where i completely failed and wasted money.

so i don't think I am able to even try to make an authority website so i must try and make a niche site.

but the problem is that I will have to be spinning content already on the internet and trying to make it 'unique'.

what should i do?

An easy way to start making money is go to Fiverr and sell your services, or become an affiliate and send people to squeeze page so you can start building your email list!

Before you do any of that first thing you should do is develop the correct mindset...

You can become successful at anything in life as long as you develop the correct mindset!

Most people suffer from their own doubt - because doubt can be a convenient excuse when we are not doing something we want with out life. So we make excuses like, "there's no point trying", or "I don't have the time"

They key to overcome doubt is how we REACT to it. You can be faced with any problem in your life and give up, or you can push through and overcome it.

Did you know Walt Disney had a dream that he wanted his mouse to feature in the first cartoon which featured sound. In order to achieve this, he needed to raise approximately $15,000. In today’s money, that would be about $1 million

He visited 305 banks before he found one prepared to take a chance with him.

This is a great example of a man overcoming doubt and pushing through the problem he was faced with until he had a breakthrough!

Put yourself on a daily marketing schedule so that you can monitor your results. Write out on a sheet of paper with a pen all of the things that you will do on everyday of every week. This will kill the procrastination.

Just spinning content for search engine optimization reasons is certainly no way to think about injecting quality content into any website you want to make. But don't despair about spinning content in a general sense. The vast majority of content on the web is spun in some form or another. Even a totally original opinion piece written about a hot topic can be considered spun if the theme of the topic isn't original in and of itself. Just about every major news site in the world spins it's content from a central source, but that doesn't hurt them. Neither will it hurt you providing that the content you write is your unique perspective drawn from the information you've gleaned from your source.

A simple rule of thumb in preparing your content is to ask yourself if it adds value. If it doesn't then what about it will set you above your competitors? If you feel the answer is nothing, then maybe it's a simple matter of just doing a little more research on the material included in your article so that you can include some extra value. Remember, you acknowledge that you don't have any extra knowledge except for what you gained from the internet. So just apply that philosophy to gaining any extra knowledge you need to add to your content. The internet is your friend

It is easy to give up when the niche you choose doesn't inspire you that much. If you believe it's too competitive, your lack of inspiration in the niche will make it easy to give up. If the niche you choose does inspire you, you're more likely to ignore the competition and go for it anyway. But we can't always be pursuing niches that we love. So what then? My personal answer to that is to ignore the competition. I used to think overly competitive niches were too hard to break into. But time and again I've proven that to be false. Even where there is a lot of competition those that rise above the rest are usually those with the best content. Search engines are getting better and better at assessing quality content. So if you apply the philosophy of questioning how you can add value to the content you write every time you write it, and never article spin purely for seo, then you will absolutely have success providing you are willing to wait for it. Don't expect success in a competitive niche to occur overnight, but if you are patient and never give up on regularly adding quality content, it will come no matter how competitive the niche is. That's been my experience at least.

How much money did you waste? You can set up a website for practically nothing these days. So really, wasting money shouldn't be a problem when you're talking $10 or so at most to get your domain and get rolling. Then all you need to do is get that domain earning more money per month than it costs you. Don't consider any site you create a failure if it doesn't earn anything for a few months. Give it time.

Personally I consider any affiliate site I create to be a success if after 6 months to a year it is earning 4 times per month what it costs to run per month. So with $10 hosting, that's only $40 per month. Is $30 profit per month really success? Of course it is! All you need is 100 of those types of sites and you'll be seeing $3000 come in every month for very little work. That's not millionaire bucks, but it'll keep you as your own boss and allow you to work from home and build your income to higher levels.

So with that in mind you're only real concern here isn't wasting money, it's failing. If there's one thing that's true about failure it is this: if you give up too early, you'll always fail. So for a start, make it simple on yourself. Plan to get one site up and running and have it earning $30 per month within 6 months. Promise yourself you'll go for 6 months BUT are willing to keep trying for 12. It's a small goal, yes, but it's the small goals that enable us to break the barrier of giving up to early. Once you prove to yourself you can make a small profit, you can rinse and repeat your method on a mass scale. Chances are, you'll crack that $30 per month a lot faster than you think. With one success under your belt, the rest will fall into place for you. I know, I've been there.

There is absolutely no difference between these two types of sites in my view. When people refer to a site as being an 'authority website' they are merely talking about how a series of factors have added up to give that site a high position in search results. In other words, if you make a niche site that is popular and ranks well, your niche site will be an authority site.

With this statement it appears to me that your confidence is low because you've failed at creating any kind of popular site (authority site) because you've been struggling to make other people's content unique to your own sites. There's your problem right there. Stop trying to simply SEO spin their content. Doing so doesn't make you unique and it doesn't add any value. Instead, aim to become an authority on your chosen niche by learning about it. If you need to use other people's content to switch a light bulb on in your head, do so. Read other people's articles and ask questions in your mind. Find the answers. Write about what you learn as you go. A neat trick is to review any comments to see what people are commenting on or asking. Then use those to help you find more information and to write an article that elaborates on those that you've read.

In other words, add more quality information to the information you find. That's the best kind of 'spin' and the search engines will love the content you produce as a result of it.

What should you do? It's only one person's opinion, but I think you should stop letting obstacles squash your ambitions. Set goals, write down the steps to reach the goals, and then start taking those steps. Keep your focus on your goals. Success is built one day at a time ... or pushed away one day at a time.

By the way, "unique" doesn't necessarily mean one-of-a-kind. You don't have to come up with something never before thought of ... that's not practical and may not even be possible. What can be "you-nique" is YOUR take on something. Your way of presenting or explaining information.

One of my niches is teaching web design. There are thousands of sites that do this. A lot of people like the way I teach. A lot of people may like the way you do something too, if you give them a chance.

Not everyone likes the same things, or the same information sources. If that weren't the case there would only need to be one brand of ketchup, one kind of car, one computer model, etc.

Your share of the pie is out there waiting for you to claim it. What I think you should do is to stop trying to talk yourself out of it. What I think doesn't really matter though ... what do YOU think?

    Good luck.

Hi non! Well first of all the problem you're having isn't uncommon. I actually experienced

this problem myself and was ready to give up until I saw a video with Tony Robbins that

said I needed to make it habit taking massive action. You have to get out of the learning

stage and start doing. You may make some mistakes. You may even lose some money,

but noone who's success became success by always playing it safe. I know one of my

biggest problem is when it was time to tackle something new it seemed like everything

else that I was not supposed to be doing seemed like such a good idea. So you just have

to take control and say I'm going to do what I set out to do. You have to see yourself as

successful already. Just as if you were getting in a car and you were visiting family you

see yourself being there in thirty minutes so you crank your car and drive in that direction

and guess where you are in thirty minutes? If you said the home of your family you're

correct! This method needs to be applied in the business world as well. If you drive

towards success where do you think your destination will be? Success.

    Kind regards

I had the same problem. You are thinking too much and you need to come to terms in realizing that a website takes time to build (allot of time). I'm a developer and when i first started i realized this and it allowed to me stop rushing so much. Some good advice would be to learn time management and divide your time for what you normally do and add in educating yourself in web development or internet marketing and give yourself time in project development.

It is very important to realize that it takes time like months not weeks to develop a site and there is allot of research sometimes to get going so you know where your model will fit. If you build a website in a few days in no way will you an authority over the market nor will you have as many sales as you want. However their are allot of models out their that are never really implemented and only takes about an hour to develop and profits are pretty moderate on it (enough for small apartment a month). But because of it's scarcity, i will not share how the model is implemented.

Note: write down every idea you have and save it for later when you get better at marketing, trust it will be allot easier. Big models require a team and the best places to find a team is at universities whether you hire or partner up. and do not try and make it perfect, i just implemented this idea, i made a really shitty site but it is very valuable and it is already becoming an authority.

Use my method of development. It is called progressive enhancement, a website you build is like yoru room, you always want to keep it clean and make it look better.Progressive enhancement is enhancing your website as your skills get better and better. Don't be afraid that the site is shitty and also follow your instincts, if your model is a great idea but you feel that you cant implement it yet and that if you implement a mini version of it someone else will come along and copy cat it. Don't develop it, just keep generating ideas for it and work on it on your free time or when your bored and keep makign it better as yoru skills advance.

AND DONT FOCUS ON PERFECTION JUST MAKE IT WORK.

I go through phases of where I can't focus, can't concentrate, doubt myself, doubt what I'm doing, doubt the product/business i'm promoting, or I have writers block.
I think this has happened to everyone at some point.
Listening to motivational speakers like "Tony Robbins" and writing lists are a great way to focus and eliminate the doubt you have.

    Hi OP

Making your first sale will be incredibly useful for you.

You need to therefore just focus on making 1 sale, or even 1 dollar.

Your first site will not be a "success" in all likelihood, it's a learning experience. And by first site, I mean one where you follow a plan very closely.

To make money you need some of the below. NOTE, you do NOT need a great quantity of these.

    1) a website
    2) content
    3) an offer / product to promote
4a) either direct CTAs like a banner ad, or affiliate link embedded in your text or:
4b) lead capture so you can promote later
    5) traffic

You don't need an amazing looking website, you don't need perfect content, you don't need the greatest offer, you don't need tons of traffic.

The key is to focus on getting each of these as quickly as possible. Don't try to build the perfect site, write the perfect article, find the perfect offer, set up long term traffic.

But you DO need to tick each of these boxes before you likely make $1.

    So:

As quickly as possible, get each of these areas covered.

Get rid of the idea of success or perfection, get the idea of PROCESS into your head. Learn a process, replicate it.

There are good WSOs available for $5 or $10 where you can follow a niche plan.

Find one, stick by it until you make the first dollar or sale. Then figure out how to scale.

I'll just be wasting time and money on web hosting and a domain name
Hosting and a domain cost less than $20. If 'wasting' $20 on a potential business is a problem or too daunting for you then unfortunately you're probably not cut out for this. To really make a success in internet marketing you'll likely need to spend hundreds of dollars in trial and error to test out what works and what doesn't before you start seeing any return.

I know it's scary at first and a bit overwhelming but you need to spend money (without just throwing it away) and take action otherwise you'll never know. You can't succeed if you don't ever try and you definitely need to spend money to make money.

I don't mean to sound harsh on you but it's how it is. Don't think of that money spent on hosting and a domain as a 'waste' but as an investment.

You have to realize that there is a chance that your website will fail. There is no possible way to know for sure that your website will be a hit. If it does fail, you know what not to do next time.

Ditch the negative mindset. Don't focus on short term results. Plow through. Even if you don't see any traffic in the first few months keep working. Never give up - especially if you haven't even begun.

Continue with your niche research and get that website up!

Honestly, it seems like you are afraid of failure. Your mind thinks up reasons for you NOT to do something and then you convince yourself to give up. ( This can also be geared towards the fear of success )

Read the book: "Think and grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. It will change your mindset and get you revved up to get going. On top of that listen and watch E.Ts videos (Eric Thomas)

These are just things to get you into the right mind set.

Then pick the plan of action and follow through with it. Break it down in to hourly tasks. These are things you will do towards building up your businesses everyday. The key will be to follow through with it, and DOCUMENT everything. This way if something doesn't work you will have documented it for the reason that it didn't.

You're burned out, dude. It may sound counter productive, but go lay down for a little, and think about what you WANT to do. Weigh things before you take any action at all - once something feels like it will work, simply go sit down and BEGIN. Once you begin, you have taken action. Let that fuel more. It sounds simple, and it is, but it can be very difficult. That is why you need a little time to relax, eyes closed, thinking of your next move. See it completed, then you are empowered to see it to completion.
