hi guys

i just got feedback on my website and been advised that its completely wrong
thats right. 2yrs spent on designing the site with all bits, and the layout is wrong
the freebie is wrong shouldve used video instead of normal optin. despite all this ive actually made 2 sales. so question - should i continue or quit? ive also spent $700 on getting it optimised and im stuck halfway through. has anyone had this experience of spending so long on something and then wanting to give up?

wait story not over - i tried another method - and made slightly more money from it, which was originally intended to be a way to drive traffic to the first site. should i continue with both? or just continue with the second one?

fact is, i have other ways of making money, not just this, but im just wondering whether i should continue just to say i succeeded in IM? 3 years is 3 years regardless and it sucks to find out no matter how much you study, no matter how much you read WF and how much focus you apply, that it doesnt necessarily work out the way you imagined it...

The key to really finding success is being dynamic. Go with what works. If something doesn't work out as you'd hoped, that's ok. It's normal. Just be creative and see how you can tweak your system. Try lots of different things, and you'll find a handful that you like, and that bring success.

Everyone is willing to say that you're "wrong." That's easy. But in all honesty, that's a totally relative opinion. Everyone has their "secret" that looks like madness to the others. Find your own secret, and most of all, enjoy yourself!

yeah i guess coming on here is a waste of time huh ha. but then what option do you have - its either coming on here for 'second opinions' or sticking in a hole and figuring it out yourself. as far as i know theres no 'mastermind class' for getting my site done in my niche ( only moneymaking niche which im not in) and every other mentor and guru out there wants $$$, which to me is pointless.

What I learned in the past 10 years of being online and making money is that you need to have on your website an opt in form so that you can follow up with your subscribers about different offers.

If you are not doing this then you are missing out on bigger commissions and more customers.

Having your own opt in list also allows you to send your leads more then 1 offer at a time.

I've not seen your site at all, but even if I had, I would say that only you can make that determination. If you enjoy what you're doing and would like to continue, take some of that negative feedback and use it for your good, you know, how live performers do. They take that nervous energy and channel it into their performances. It acts like fuel to energize them if they allow it to or it can cripple them into stage fright if they allow it.

I believe too many people give up right before a major breakthrough. If you just recently got those sales, let those be the fuel to spur you on.

If it was quite awhile ago, think back to where they came from and what you were doing at that time.

Again, no one other than you should make that decision.

Success to you regardless of the path you choose.

Over your 3 years, how much time did you spend actually working on the site rather than studying information?

Do you only have 1 site built in this time? And how much content (say, pages) do you have on the site now?

Yes its only one site, theres quite a few pages of content, 20 id say at least. = the main salespage, help pages , information etc etc. re 'studying information' - basically i looked at what worked, then modelled it, then went ahead and did it. design the product etc, i wasnt wasting time figuring out which niche should i do, or buying loads of IM products if thats what you mean, but like i said, i got feedback and theres issues with the site etc etc. also heres another problem with listening to people or coming to warrior forum for advice - everyone has an opinion, but as a novice you are just starting fresh so no idea whether itll work or not.

Without knowing much else, I'd say the site possibly had keywords that were too competitive to rank for. The use of keywords that don't have much SEO competition can mean all the difference in the world in making it easier to rank, and therefore pull in more traffic and sales.

yeah the keywords that i chose for it, are still being ranked for, ( still in the middle of the campaign) funnily enough from a guy on here. Im not knocking that persons service , actually theyve done a good job in showing the page 1 proof etc) but its just the effort of backlinking etc, to keep it there afterwards. its tedious. i havent even bothered getting back to them because i dont know if its still worth it. yes its compettive niche, but hey what can you do? we are taught to sell in an area where theres demand. damned if you do damned if you dont right?

i tried another method - and made slightly more money from it, QUOTE]

If this method works stick with a little longer and see it continues to make money. This might be a better path to follow. Maybe the other path leads to no money or the niche is not profitable?

You also might be real close to more money hang in there!

but if you can try different things, 1 or 2 of those are going to work consistently.
Like now, i have found a particular cpa offer that is working while building my list and i'm heavily focused on this now.
      hope this helps

i just got feedback on my website and been advised that its completely wrong thats right. 2yrs spent on designing the site with all bits, and the layout is wrong.

    Change the layout

the freebie is wrong shouldve used video instead of normal optin.

    test both

despite all this ive actually made 2 sales. so question - should i continue or quit?

If it took 2 years to make 2 sales I really have to question what the hell you have been doing. Definitely quit the strategy you're using at the moment.

ive also spent $700 on getting it optimised and im stuck halfway through. has anyone had this experience of spending so long on something and then wanting to give up?

If you are passionate about what you're doing and can see the end goal, you should never want to, or feel like, giving up. No one ever said being a success was easy, at least not any successful person.

wait story not over - i tried another method - and made slightly more money from it, which was originally intended to be a way to drive traffic to the first site. should i continue with both? or just continue with the second one?

Why would you continue with the least effective method? How has it taken you 2 years to find a method that works better than the "2 sales in 2 years method?

fact is, i have other ways of making money, not just this, but im just wondering whether i should continue just to say i succeeded in IM?

You may as well quit, because your definition for "success" is distorted. If it took you 2 years to make 2 sales, how many more do you think is needed to call yourself a successful marketer?

3 years is 3 years regardless and it sucks to find out no matter how much you study, no matter how much you read WF and how much focus you apply, that it doesnt necessarily work out the way you imagined it...

Nothing ever does. Reading a forum, studying, and focusing on a useless strategy will get you no results. Believe me, if you study a proven system, create a strategy and focus focus focus you will make a hell of a lot more sales than "2" in 2 years. Now, what have you been doing?

The most important thing you could have included in this thread was your URL, it beggers belief you left it out. It's not as if someone is going to steal any of your niches and/or ideas now is it?

Most people who post these "I want to quit" questions are just looking for reassurance from their peers (A lot of whom are probably not making it either).
If you have other ways of making money, why waist more time.

    My advice QUIT!

Good advice. Id say all of them are looking for reassurance from their peers.

Otherwise why wouldn't they just quit?

Also something to keep in mind. There are some people who make good money online on this forum, but lots and lots of them make no money at all and a few make some money. So be careful of whos advise you take when they say 'your doing it wrong'

As for if you should quit. That depends, if your goal is to have fun, and your having fun, then dont quit, its a hobby. If your goal is to make money and your not making money then quit, there is nothing wrong with folding a loosing hand.

What makes you think what you're doing is wrong?

Video opt-ins don't necessarily outperform text optins... Don't over complicate things.

All you need to do is:

    1) find a niche of hungry buyers
    2) offer them something they want for free for their email address
    3) advertise and promote your squeeze page where the hungry buyers hang out
    4) sell them stuff
    5) repeat 3 & 4

Once you see the big picture you'll realise pretty much everything else is just mechanics

first thing i will say is what on earth have you been doing for 2 years to build a site?

also you really have to change your mindset before you go any further if you want to succeed

you have to look at everything as education and not think in terms of failure

did you hear about the guy who worked for a wall street firm?

he was fairly new and he made a big mistake which resulted him in losing the company $10 million dollars

the following day he came into work and packed all his stuff up and then went into see his boss to apologise and explain that he understands why he is getting fired

    His boss replies "fired"

"good god" "I`m not firing you boy"

"Iv`e just spent $10 million dollars on education for you so now you know how not to do it, now get back to work"

    Paul :-)

You should only keep working on this project if you believe that it can give you a lot of money. However, you are not so sure, and you want to continue only because you already spent a lot with it.

Since you are not so enthusiastic with this site and you don’t feel you should pursue success through it, you should abandon it. If you'll continue you'll simply spend more and more solving various problems and never seeing the results you desire because you don’t want to care about this site.

Leave it for later. Work on what is giving you money right now and wait for the time when you’ll find what to do with this site.

Yes its only one site, theres quite a few pages of content, 20 id say at least. = the main salespage, help pages , information etc etc.
There seems to something out of whack on this part. "Constantly" updating a site would result in more than 1 article/post/page every 1 1/2 months approximately unless they were very long and very detailed pages.

If you spent 3 years and you can say to yourself that you put your hard work in and you only made 2 sales then it means you picked up the wrong road. Choose another and start from there. I have gone from $0 and 0 knowledge in IM to $5000+/month in less than a year. I obviously put a lot of work into it but by the sound of it you do seem to be a hard worker. You can do it too man. Best of luck.

As some of the others have said - it might be helpful to you if we were able to look at the site. Be prepared for us to pick it apart (in a good way - though).

Most people that have succeeded in Affiliate Marketing have upwards of 500 sites. For you to say that you only have one site makes me wonder what you've been doing all this time. I'm sure you've been busy - but obviously, not on this or other websites.

The wisdom for having a lot of sites is because sometimes we can't figure out exactly why a site doesn't perform. It might have all the right keywords, in the right niche - with all good copy. We can't always figure out everything.

My advice is - make more sites - lots of them. Don't give up. NEVER give up. Ever.

It all depends on why you are doing this in the first place. If you enjoy internet marketing, feel you can or will be good at it, then keep going. If you doing it just be able to say you did it, maybe that's the wrong reason. Your heart will never be in it and you will be spinning your wheels forever.

Unless your site is just dawg ugly and it's content unreadable .. it is not the site. I know there are a lot of Warriors who put a lot of stock into the color of your header and all of that. There can be some truth to that but it is not a major sales hurdle.

Changing or tweaking design can improve a site that is already selling but seldom will these changes go from zero to one hundred sales a day.

2 sales in two years tell us where to look first.

    Is the product in demand?

Is it in demand by a lot of people?

Are you competitively priced and if not are you justifying a higher price point?

The majority of the time the problem will lie in your presentation. Sales copy is king in this business.

As far as quitting .. that is a personal choice. I know you have already went 1 year and 11 months longer than I would have before doing some major changes.

If worst comes to worst, you can easily sell the website if it has as much content as you say.

However, never take advice if someone ells you your website is wrong if it is functional, works well, and is actually selling. Stick with what works, and try to expand on that.
