Hi,

I am testing out a new squeeze page and autoresponder. I've opted in to my own squeeze page to test it. I tried it several times with 5 different gmail accounts. Sometimes the autoresponder email arrives in inbox, sometimes in spam, and sometimes not at all! (same squeeze page). Meanwhile the autoresponder is collecting these emails into database whether they arrive in gmail or not. What is going on?

I want to purchase solo ads, but what a waste it would be with this kind of deliverability. Help!

What autoresponder are you using? A third party like Aweber or your own script/plugin?

you will face that kind of problem sometime with all autoresponder, including aweber. That's why I recommend you to type "check your inbox/ spam folder (then add us to your contact list)" command in your thx page.
Also you want to minimize the "spam" kw like free, rich, etc.. I think some autoresponders have given the tutorials about the bad keywords that you want to avoid.

I am using a site called Best Squeeze Pages, where you build squeeze pages, and it comes with an autoresponder. A couple of people recommended it highly, so I don't know if they are the problem...

Use Aweber or Getresponder. I've tried both and Aweber gets the edge. Does the autoresponder you're using now have a "spam score"?

Some emails that you sent out will not get delivered to you or your subscribers.

I know that Gmail will accept your emails but for some reason, Hotmail will send you to the SPAM folder.

If you are using a free autoresponder then I would change it to a paid one like Aweber or Getresponse.

Try to ask you new subscribers to add your email address to their safe list so that they do get your emails all the time.

i personally use inwise email marketing and i am really happy with it ... to avoid your emails going to spam (not completely but most of them) , check the "from" , "subject" , check your html code for spam coding (google "check html code for spam" , you will get plenty results)

I don't know why, but I like Aweber more then Getresponse.com

Much easier to use and a little more affordable. Plus, when I used to send a test broadcast to myself, it took 5-30 minutes for me to see the message in my inbox. Not sure why. With Aweber, it happens after 10 seconds.

I am not saying that Getresponse.com is bad. They are good but I like Aweber better.

I am not real sure where you got this idea, but across the board on pricing, factually, GetResponse IS CHEAPER than Aweber.

Really? I use both, and both send the mails immediately when the test broadcast and real broadcasts are run.

I am not sure why your experience would be different than my experience and the experience of other people who I also know use GetResponse...

Maybe you were sending your test emails to a Yahoo email address? All emails I send to myself through a Yahoo.com email address take 10-15 minutes to actually deliver -- even when I am sending from my Yahoo address to my Yahoo address...

        Wow,

For me Get Response is actually a lot more user friendly. I mean I don't have a problem with either but for those I coach I advice them to go with GR first because over time I have had a lot fewer clients need my assistance when they were using GR.

AS for as email speed. I have not saw enough difference either way to lean toward Aweber or GR. They are virtually the same in my test.

In no instance is Aweber cheaper than GR.

The trial for GR is 100% free

The trial for Aweber = $1

The price tables for all levels and all member numbers are also cheaper for GR. Use the following links for your own proof on that one.

Affordable Email Marketing - Price Your AWeber Account

        https://secure.getresponse.com/pricing/en/?mp=1000

Notice aweber is $19 for 500 and GR is $15 for 1000.

When using a 3rd party service you are at their mercy when it comes to deliverability. Always read their blogs and see what people are saying about deliver outages. Deliverability is not static at all, it is constantly changing. FYI multiple major email services out there (no names) all were failing to deliver hotmail and aol domain emails for about a week. It could happen to any service at any time. Also, some other major services are currently having issues with getting autospammed on yahoo domains right now. So do realize this could be a temporary issue. That being said, I would switch to another service if its spotty on gmail, thats one of the big ones... you need deliverability there.

    1. Check the reputation of the IP you're sending from.

    2. Be sure the RDNS is properly configured.

    3. Enable SPF records on the domain.

    4. Enable DKIM on the domain.

Aside from that, use a real mail delivery service such as Mandrill.

      Iced, one more thing...

As soon as they opt in, have a page come up
in a new browser with SPECIFIC instructions on
how to whitelist your email address. You can go
to the major email providers to get instructions
and then post those whitelisting instructions on
a page that comes up as soon as they opt in.

In addition, in your welcome email. Either attach
a PDF or have a link to a web page that once again
has those whitelisting instructions. It'll make a
      difference in the long run.

You should invest it correctly if you are serious in IM business.

Not well known Autoresponders has a lot of problems regarding that. I've tried so many codes/plugins to find free way to build a list when talking about Autoresponder stuff, but I failed miserably and wasted my time building a list.

You should do what others did, read around the forums then ask if you didn't find any solution to your problems because in having that kind of a problem is very obvious.

Have a nice day and Goodluck

  • Use one of the more popular autoresponders, you'll get less stress by doing so.
Aweber is very good, and popular as you can witness.

  • Autoresponders are a crucial part of your business, its one area you don't want to be financially finicky about.
Go with Aweber, you'll be relieved later on.

(and it comes with an auto-responder)?? lol

well this would be my first thing i look at

it does not sound good at all

if you`re serious about this business then you need a good auto-responder and in my opinion
i would choose either get response or aweber (i use aweber)

so i will just echo what some others are saying

(go and get a decent AR service)
