? moving optin list to another provider

Hi
I'm thinking of moving my optin list to services like aweber. My question is. Do I need to send emails to my list to notify the change or is that no notice is needed? Or does Aweber sends an email to the list automaticly saying they are now in aweber? Or do they need to optin again?

Thanks

Why not use the aWeber help pages instead of relying on a third party forum?

  • Aweber will require your subscribe to click on a "Do you want to belong to this list?" confirmation link when you import any mailing list. This is to protect themselves against dodgy lists that have been purchased or harvested in a non-legit manner.

Normally, but not always, AA: like GetResponse, they decide this on a case-by-case basis. If you can prove ownership of the list and that it's all confirmed opt-in, they may and sometimes do allow you to import it without a re-confirmation being needed.

  • Hi BJacket, the same happened to me some years ago.
I signed up to Aweber hoping to move in all the double opt-ins I generated two months before in a free autoresponder that closed.

They didn't permitted me to do it, while Getresponse did without any problem.
The key to import lists is that they must be not too old, and their email addresses have not to bounce messages back. If they check your submitted email list, and they see that a good 95% of the emails are existing, they will add that contacts without problems in just a few hours from submission.

This is what happened to me.
If instead your list is old there is an high possibility your list will be rejected.
    That's all!

    See you soon,
    Alessandro
