Milestone for my plugin developer?

Hey Warriors.

I have a guy developing a plugin for me. He is willing to start as soon as I set a milestone. As its my first ever project I don't know what I should set as a milestone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Sean Doody

From you end, what you want to see is progress that shows he is capable in a short period of time. Being a new relationship it might not work out, and you need to actionable information about the work he is specifically doing for you on a regular basis. I personally prefer to pay hourly.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Yeah, a milestone SHOULD typically be something that shows he has, or likely will, accomplish some aspect of what you want him to do. For a plugin, it might be the interface and page mockups(using the actual code). Then maybe some function, etc... Of course, if you gave him NOTHING, a full design document could be a milestone you can set. Such a document could be used as a basis for documentation, updates, refinement, etc... It is all too often overlooked.

      Hey dvduval and seasoned.

      Thanks for the replies guys.

Anyone else got some tips. From reading the many reviews the guy has got it is already clear to see that he is vastly experienced and more than capable of this project.

So there is no real worries there.

      Cheers
