The way of building list. What you think?

I was just thinking that what if I build a list in that way that I announce people about some product launches?

For example, I collect e-mails and I say that I will let you know when the new iPad launches. In the mean time I can send them some Apple related news and some Apple related products. It's simple, but would this kind of list convert?

Just want to hear your thoughts.. Thanks!

I think personally you might struggle to get the traffic and get them to sign up in first place as everyone interested in the next Ipad will find out about it a hundred time before it is launched, so really cant see why they would sign up.

I would look for something a lot less widely available and cash in on that, it would be easier to make money from.

Not sure I would opt in to a list like that, but anything is possible. Give it a shot and track closely where you get any of your subscribers.

Perhaps on something more niche... But the iPad is so heavily advertised not only by Apple, but by the media that it really wouldn't be worth it.

If you could do it for a particular niche like a new model of Air Rifle in a shooting niche just as an example.

    Good luck!

You need to provide them with an incentive or value to opt-in.

People dont really just want to be spammed products.

It may work but I think in order to get a much higher opt in rate you need to give away something of value rather just updates

What you are talking about is more of a pre-launch/newsletter type of thing

Perhaps if you were in a forum or a community all about a certain niche it may work but apart from that i don`t think you will see that good results but the only way to find out for sure is to do it

You need to do something more niche as iPad is so popular and covered by so many people. You either need t do it better than others or do something around apps, maybe even tightly specific niche apps.

The whole iPad arena is so competitive and is not lucrative enough for affiliate marketers. Everyone knows where to go when to purchase anything to do with iPad.

building a list also requires you to drive traffic, and i don't know how you would intend to drive traffic to that page.

answer your self this question: "why my list instead of the others?" .. not specifically about the i-Pad but for anything . once you answer that question, write that reason so people can read it and understand the reason why .. sometimes the obvious is not that obvious until you explain it
