The TM character ie small and at the top of the RHS of the word it applies to?

You don't say where you're using it...

but if it's on your site, the technique is called 'superscript'
If you have that feature in your Font setting box.
It makes the font small and pushes it up.

'subscript' drops it to the bottom.

....... or vice versa.
