E-Book Design Templates Anyone?

I'm looking for free or at least cheap e-book design templates, preferably for Adobe Indesign.

Anybody know some links? Could find anything useful.

Hi Eddie,

are you referring to the inside (content) or the outside (covers).

Tracy Yates sells and creates templates for the inside of ebooks, I don't think that they are for Indesign - if I remember correctly, they're formatted for Word and OpenOffice.

I'm sure Tracy will correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, I'm looking for templates for the INSIDE, because I'm trying to create a recognizable branding for my reports.

I'm also considering to outsource this to a designer, but this would be way too expensive I guess.

Ahh, Karl, ya got me!

Yes, I do ebook template designs, but, they are only for OpenOffice Writer at this time.

However, I am working with Bev Clement and her husband Rob on how to create style set templates that should work well in both OOo Writer and MS Word, which will be included in future package offers.

Eddie, if you are using OpenOffice, then my products can help you. If you're not, and still would like me to do the work for you, then I can, but I will have to charge for it.

PM or email me and let me know what you need and I'll see if I can't do a custom design for you. Or simply work on an existing design at a lower rate.

You can take a look at Neil Tarvins work. He is a warrior and works only with eBooks.

I think the reason people may need additional help using my templates is because they are for use in OOo Writer and not the industry leader, MS Word, which of course, Neil targets.

They're not hard to use really, but one would need to know their way around OOo Writer at least somewhat to make the most out of them.

As for the custom designing, I see that Neil also offers this type of service to those that "don't want to do the work themselves, or don't have the time", if a client should need it. So Neil and I are not too far apart on that.

He just specializes in one program, while I specialize in the other.

You can download some free ebook templates for OOo Writer to test them out and see how you like using them.

Just to add Tracys templates are great and simple to use. Very user friendly. Each template comes with a blank e-book cover to use.
