Warriors - you are being watched

Hi Warriors,

I know a lot more about you than you think! I know that about 62% of you are male, 39% of you are in the age range 35 to 49 and 81% of you have no kids in the range 0-17. Contrary to what many of you lead us to believe(!) 36% of you earn less than $30k a year. Approximately 45% of you didn't go to college. I also know about a lot of other sites that you are interested and therefore what affiliate offers to promote to you!

How do I know all this?

warriorforum.com - Quantcast Audience Profile

Now, the above example is a just a bit of fun. BUT, imagine the power of this information.

For example, if you are interested in promoting a popular Clickbank product, go onto quantcast, enter the address of the sales page and bingo(!) you know everything about your target audience and therefore exactly how to market to them.

And did you also know that there are some PPC schemes that enable you to target a particular audience profile?

And best of all, this information is all available for free!

Andy

    Andy,

Lol I think those stats are a bit bogus. To begin with, there's no telling how much everyone in this forum makes per month/year. Just in the US alone, all people don't report everything in their income tax, and that's just the US.

The stats they give aren't completely accurate. But if you are getting into a niche that you know nothing about they can often guide you in the right direction.

If you are getting into the forex niche for example, you can find an authority site on Forex and plug it in to see what results you get. It will help you find out what an "average" visitor to that site consists of.

Cool - apart from the earnings - that's me.

    It must be true

Seriously though - it is a cool resource, I've pointed people to it in my knowing where to tap resources section.

Thanks for thinking about your fellow warriors and sharing.

Of course it's true. They wouldn't put it on the Internet if it wasn't true.

      Hey Andy,

I'll agree with you there, it's an interesting site and worthwhile.

But seriously lol, his claims here are a bit much don't you think:

You now have 3 followers. LOL

All my stats are not posted. How does WF know if I have kids or not? And while I do post my age, there is not a way for WF to know my real income, and my education is not posted anywhere.

I don't know what to make of those stats.

81% of us have no kids between 0-17. Wonder what the percent would be for those of us who would like to forget (occasionally) that we do have kids?

Yeh, I found Quantcast sometime ago - I think its a great resource. I'm not sure its 100% accurate though, but close enough for this work.

None of you filled out that information HERE...

You've filled it out other places a little here and a little there, and they aggregate, then they extrapolate from known data to fill in the gaps that are left.

Hmm, I've never on any site ever said what my income is, how many kids, etc. The only thing I think I've answered from that list is gender :p

They don't get that data from the individual sites in question.. at some point in time, people provided that demographic data somewhere, and they isntalled some sort of tool bar, BHO, or siialr program that tracks & collects their surfing history..

It's no different then alexa really - I have never met anyone personaly, including myself, with their toolbar installed, yet they still come up with their traffic data by extrapolating data from those who DO have it installed. You can add compete.com, and every other similar site.

Heck, yahoo collects demographic data and lets advertisers target ads via it (and TONS of people have the yahoo toolbars and BHO's installed, so they can track anything you do even if you are on a non-yahoo site)- maybe they let other companies subscribe to this info anonymously? Who knows - but the point is that it is no different nor more difficult to do then alexa doing what it does..

I'm a webmaster for some car dealers, and I've pulled up their stats there before. They are pretty darn close to giving a decent picture of these dealerships customer base.. it can provide some pretty amazing insights...

@Jason - Some sites (blogcatalog.com is one) actually embed javascript in their sites to help QC gather this data. They get MORE information about their visitors than what you see on the site in exchange for this.

Off topic, but why do males always say last time I checked? Do they check daily to see if they are still male?

There was a thread in OT asking what's ur gender and every male said, last time I checked...

here's the deal.. a car dealership can verify it's demographics, including income. And QC does a pretty good job compared to what I KNOW (since I do a lot of work for them, including one owned by my family). And not a single person here could possibly know what the demographics of the WF are.
