And he might want to do some keyword research. With that much content going there should be a lot of keywords that would be considered "low hanging fruit" that you may be able to rank for quicker. It may be what you are trying to rank for has a ton of big competition.

How long has your site been live? If you have regular visitors... I mean readers that thinks your site is well made and credible, they will keep coming back and most likely refer your site to other people that could make use of your site, with this... It means you must continuously engage your readers with new and high quality content... I mean don't just do it for the search engines, do it for your readers.

I totally redesigned the site and it looks a lot more professional today than it was a few months ago
It could be one of the main reasons, you see, if I was one of the 1000 UV you got that month, and if I found your site really good, I would've come back for more or even shared your article on my Facebook account but if there isn't much happening in there, the fire might have died for old readers... But then again it isn't too late to engage your viewers and attract new ones... I hope you keep track of your source of traffic too.

For a site that publishes 4-5 articles daily..well that is a massive one, average sites publishes 4-5 articles in a week. BTW, you still can amp your site it's never too late.

The next 3 positions get 6%-9% each.
The next rest get 3% or less each.

So you either need to work on improving your rankings, or you need to target KW's that have a greater volume of searches with future content. Keep in mind, a really great article written about something no one cares about is not a good use of resources.

In theory, the answer is yes, but it will take a lot more time if you don't cover some basic SEO. Also, quality content is in the eye of the beholder. But who will behold your beautiful content if you don't cover basic seo? Evaluate current and future content to make sure you:

    A. Target topics that have a good number of searches (interest)
    and/or
    B. Have a method for gaining exposure for your articles.

If you tackle the SEO + content, then you'll see the traffic you're hoping for. But - remember that's only half the equation. Conversion is the other half.

    Best regards

One article daily is must, you have started well.

Don't be disappointed, since your niche has a very high competition, so you have to keep focus and steadily continue with your work.

Divide the article submission into 3 category:

Write one article for your website's blog (Daily)
Write one article for Regular article submission (Daily)
Write Article for Guest Posting (At least once in a week)

Followed by Social media Work, like share your article through Facebook and Twitter to increase the visibility

Bookmark all the published link of your article along with your own website.

    Participate in Question and Answering

    Participate in Forums Discussion

If possible go for 3 way link exchange or paid linking (This can not only boost your traffic in short time but also increase your site trust rank)

Last but not the least, you can do sponsored posting which can send you traffic fastest than other any means in online marketing.

If you continue with the above work in large volume then also it will take almost a year or more to get 1000 UV per months, since your industry has very tough competition, and nothing can help make it faster.

Just because your articles are on page 1 of Google does not mean that you are going to get a ton of traffic each day.

Some people may see it but not everyone will click on your links.

I would also start looking into paid ads like ppc.

If you are getting 40 visitors but 150 page views they are staying and reading. . . right? I'm assuming your bounce rate is low? So your readers are engaged.

But you want to wait to monetize using private advertising and Adsense. Maybe you should consider adding an affiliate product now, building a list to drive people back to the site as new content is added (not frequent mailings but more like a newsletter product) and consider private advertising as the UV numbers go up.

Don't forget to track where the current source of the visits are coming from while you are adding new ways of promoting your site. You know the drill - Track and Test

  • Hi Rdogg12794,

Are you sure you're writing about topics (not exact match keywords/keyphrases) badly needed by your target viewers? To do this:

Grab copies of current and recent back issues of the hottest selling magazines in your niche, particularly ones intended for your target local audiences. You can go to www.magazine.com to do this. Then:

Study the headlines and cover stories of those niche magazines. Develop your own set of attention-grabbing headline and content ideas from those headlines and cover stories. Next:

Go to www.technorati.com/blogs/directory, select a category or a sub category that's closely related to your headline and content ideas. A list of popular blogs will appear. Choose blogs that aren't operated by corporations or big businesses. You can go to www.compete.com to get the US traffic stats of those blogs (I'm assuming you're targeting US markets), so you can end up with a list of heavily trafficked niche authority blogs. Then:

Go to those blogs. Take note of blogs that accept guest posting offers. Of course, remove blogs that explicitly state they aren't accepting guest posting offers. For blogs that haven't mentioned anything about this, take note of those blogs in a separate list (a prospect list). Next:

Using your blog lists at this point, go to those blogs and study the most relevant, most recent and most popular posts in those blogs (in this order of priority). Take note of the blogs that have posts which cover topics similar to your headline and content ideas. Then:

Grab the contact details of those blog owners/webmasters (email addresses, URLs of contact forms, Twitter, Facebook and so on). Next:

Improve your headline and content ideas to serve as excellent supplemental posts to those most relevant, most recent and most popular posts in those blogs. Then:

Divide your list of headline and content ideas into two categories, namely one under "follow-up posts" to the posts in those blogs, and the other category under "supplemental posts" for those "follow-up" posts. This is because you'll be offering those "follow-up" posts to the owners/webmasters of those blogs as guest posts, and you'll include links that point to your "supplemental posts" in those "follow-up" posts. Most blog owners/webmasters accept one link per guest post, while there are some that accept two links. Next:

Develop your "follow-up" posts, then your "supplemental" posts. Include relevant non-copyrighted, non-watermarked images and videos in the content, to improve overall presentation. Publish your "supplemental posts" in your site. Next:

Contact the owners/webmasters of those blogs. Introduce yourself and tell them about your relevant expertise and the original content you're offering as a guest post. Also let them know that you wrote that original content to serve as a suitable follow-up post to their most recent posts -- Specify the headlines of their posts. Paste the content of your posts in the emails you send out to them. Ask them to contact you if they want to publish your original content, because you have images and videos that you'd want to include in those guest posts to improve its overall presentation. Also let them know that you're interested in establishing a long term content contribution partnership with them. Next:

Do the things above, following a realistic schedule. Mix in natural traffic generation strategies like implementing video marketing campaigns and participating in heavily trafficked niche-authority Web forums and popular social groups/communities covering topics and sub topics relevant to your niche. Of course, subtlely promote your onsite content while you're doing these things. If you want, you can also implement search and social network PPC campaigns, solo email advertising and private advertising campaigns...

We've been doing these things for the websites of our clients. Go to www.compete.com and get the US traffic stats of this site and this one -- These two sites are in competitive niches. Also go to www.rankchecker.com to get Google PR, Alexa Rank (a good stat to know for tech sites) and SEMRush details of those two sites. If you do these things right, you could get similar results, though of course monitor your results and improve your campaigns. That's it...

I started published one new article daily 600-1200 words and I am going to start outsourcing to expert writers from elance.com.

The site currently has 20 articles of which 10 or so are on the first page of google.

My short term goal is 1000 UV DAILY

    Then 10,000 100,000 and finally 1,000,000

The site has a twitter and facebook page with 112 followers and 6 likes respectively.

Focus on one traffic method ONLY!

There are so many ways to drive traffic to your
website but the problem is most people tend to
jump from one way to another..

    Wrong Wrong Wrong.

One thing you need to know is driving traffic requires
a lot of work because it's the most important thing in
    your business that brings money..

So in order to generate tons of traffic you need to
in ONE method until you master it, then you can
    add another method.

For free traffic, start with forum marketing..

I hope you see better results soon
