Things That Don't Sell Online?

Hey guys, I'm in the process of setting up a few amazon sites, and I got to thinking: is there anything that doesn't sell well online?

I know there are a few things I would never really buy online, but I want to get some other people's opinions. From your experiences, what are some things that don't sell well on your online stores?

They sell those items by the boatload through online grocery shopping sites.

      ...in the UK at least!

      Anything and everything sells online.

I seen them sell boats, cars, cats, dogs - Hell you can even buy your next wife online (note, I am not promoting the buying or selling of humans ).

They buy and sell virtual goods such as cars, battle axes, houses and clothes in online games like WoW and secondlife.

you can buy a peice of land in Scotland that will give you the official title of "Lord" or "Lady".

Anything can be bought and sold online!

Anything that can fit into a box can be sold online, I'm just speaking in relative terms.

As you wrote you don't buy certain things from Amazon online.
Similarly just research on the niche / product and try to build your
website so that product will be sold online.

      Cheers

Anything sold to a demographic that does not have a credit card of their own... teenagers for instance. There is money to be made there, but there is way easier money to be made in other markets.

In Australia we use Debit Cards, your own money however works like a credit card.

As much as I like the original question for the fact it's a brainteaser, shouldn't the question be "What is selling online?"

...otherwise you might be waiting a while for a good answer and still you won't be able to put anything into action when you get it.

We have that option too (very few use it)... however I was indirectly saying markets that dont yet have the money to spare... Highschool kids in the states make a very small % of users who buy online. Not to mention they have limited funds and lucky to have a part time job!... easier money to be made elsewhere.

This is actually something you can get online. You´ll always find people who would like to sell weapons legally or not.

Even integrity gets sold online, so I'm not sure there's anything that doesn't sell, so long as you offer it to the right audience.

A great deal of businesses are made and established online. Massive products sell very well on cyberspace too. You just have to tap that specialized niche market where the buying power is most potent and unsatiated to get more sales and commissions.

You could probably sell anything online. That said there are things that are much easier to sell than others.

Hmmm this is probably the most difficult question so far :p Almost everything can be sold online, it's just that some sells better than other products, don't forget to consider factors such as demographic, and your targeted market.

  • You can sell anything online if you know the best way on how to market it. But be sure that the thing that you are going to sell still has value/is in good condition or is not fully depreciated or else it will not be bought by anyone.
