Are these Fiverr Clones for Real?

I am a freelance writer, internet marketer and blogger in all sorts of websites such as GlobeSkill and Elance.

I am also a big Fiverr fan both for buying and selling stuff.

I recently realized that there are lots of Fiverr clones out there such as Gigbucks, GigBomb e.t.c. I did a little experiment the other day and signed up for a couple of these. Funny thing is I only get spam messages from other Fiverr cloners who are looking for people to sign up to their sites.

Conclusion:

Use Fiverr which is the real deal. All other Fiverr clones are fake, all of them.

    How about...

    maxedupgigs.net

Looks like a reasonable alternative to Fiverr?

    Did you try them?

Their "best" alternative probably gets 1% of the traffic that fiverr gets, so you can do the math yourself. Some offer paid (guaranteed) listings that could work quite well though...

Actually that does does not help at all. That's why the sites get set up in the first place. You pay money to get listed but no one will ever hire you anyway.

Those looking for Fiverr freelancers will not go to a clone site, they'll go to Fiverr.

The alternatives are there but it is safer to patronize the tested and trusted Fiverr

Yeah the clones don't receive any where near as much traffic as Fiverr.

Yeah, in fact they make Fiverr more famous if you think about it!

What does Tumblr have to do with Fiverr?

Sure there are sites like Fiverr...why should they have a lock on small gigs?
As much as I do like Fiverr, it is probably a good idea not to turn them into a monopoly.

Hahah, these guys aren't original, Fiverr is the best, and authentic. Which reminds me I was actually in a restaurant B it was kinda like the same as a restaurant A before I went to. The A one is the best but when I tried the B it tasted nasty... So, that means the quality of the work can't be the best, although it could be replicated.

There are a ton of Fiverr clones but none of them can come remotely close to the amount of traffic Fiverr gets.

So far I have not heard of anyone who has either hired a good freelancer or gotten a great freelancing job from any Fiverr clone.

You can almost tell the success rate is low because most of the sellers on the clone sites don't even have any feedback or not even rated at all

I think using Fiverr is much better because it is a lot more popular than the clones. I haven't heard of Gigbucks and Gigbombs until reading this thread.

The whole reason I like to purchase from Fiverr (in addition to low price) is the confidence when purchasing a gig. I know the system can be gamed (somewhat), but I have far more trust than in some random site which could have dozens of fake user reviews.

Yes, they are for real, and no probably you will need to do a better job to get traffic.

Back on the day I used to own a gig website, and I had top sellers, who used to make more than a top rated sellers on fiverr. Why was it successful ? I was dedicated to the job, buyers never had a single problem even if I had to pay from my own pocket, and the longest ticket never took more than 3 hours to be resolve. I had features that fiverr doesn't have and people liked them.

Don't step on a copy cat of fiverr (someone who bought a script and run it), that never work. Look up for an actual alternative that provide you more value.

They're not fake. They just don't have a large user base and are not well moderated.

To say they are all scams is BS I use a couple of them since I was banned from fiverr over something that wasnt my fault (they will ban you for any little silly thing). And they work just fine. I happen to own what you could call a "fiverr clone" and I offer REAL gigs on there and have never had an issue. All the people that post gigs on my site always deliver. The other clone sites work just fine but I have got gigs from them in the past with no problems.

Thanks for the responses. It seems like Fiverr still carries the day.

Interesting to hear that people buy gigs and get freelancing jobs from the other clones.

I have not seen one that works to date.

Thanks for dropping by. The problem is very few people seem to be satisfied. I have personally signed up to one of the sites above but I have only been receiving spam messages but no real traffic unlike Fiverr where there is a lot of quality and quantity of traffic.

Anyway, if anyone is making money off Fiverr clones, it's okay. I still doubt that they are nearly as successful.

The issue with many of these sites are that people starting selling Fiverr scripts . Basically have your own fiverr site and many thought hey , if I can have a site similar to fiverr I can make a killing . But its not as easy as that , one cannot simply copy a site and hope the traffic will come .

A number of these sites were developed as one or two man shows and just did not have the marketing savvy or the funds to really get their sites known to the market.

JobsFor10 , a site that offerred gigs at $5 , $10 and $20 has recently closed down as their costs were greater than the income . With sites like these one has to have sufficient capital to ride out the tough beginning stages until your site gains some traction.

I would not however call these sites fake . Its just that they dont have the reputation and clout that Fiverr has built up .

As of now we are getting good feed back from our customer, that they are getting qualified listing in their websites and making good profit out of it.
Might be the spam listings are created by some of the users of these site to generated more traffic.

It's entirely possible that one or two of the clones will emerge in time to become a major player but, for the moment, Fiverr is certainly the dominant player and where most poeple will continue to focus their attention.

The real value of Fiverr is the traffic and the volume of orders. While it is a good idea to get listed at other sites, expect to get more volume (and more opportunities) from Fiverr. Use the volume to hone your service.

Yeah some Fiverr clones are real. Few months ago, I have made and account with one Fiverr clone named GigBuck and get a service to promote. Until Now I have not got a single order. Not only me, I have checked out some other guys services not orders at all.

As an owner of one of the largest clones, I have many sellers that make a full time living. Yes, I don't get the amount of traffic that Fiverr gets, but I have serious buyers that spend thousands of $$ per month. We do a ton of business.
