Default Add On Domains

I am curious if there are any benefits in using 1 hosting account with add on domains as opposed to simply using a seperate hosting account for each domain, other then the slight saving of $$.

The only benefit is the cheaper cost. If you're thinking of setting up multiple websites with differnt domain names the best solution would be a reseller account with the WHM control panel.

In the WHM control panel you can set up individual accounts with their own domains and cpanels. So you can have multiple hosting accounts all set up within one control panel.

By the way, You don't need to be a reseller to have a reseller account.

I use a reseller account with Hostgator and it's the best I've ever used.

Best wishes,

Another benefit is that you can manage all your domains in just one server

There is a disadvantage also but I don't mind.

I would imagine cost savings to be the primary benefit.

Harder to split domains later on down the track should you want to sell them individually.

Slight savings? If you have 10 domains hosted using add-on domains on a single account, you're saving 90%.

...And yeah, it's way handier to be able to access multiple domains through a single account.

It's easier to maintain all your domains and A LOT easier to transfers files over with FTP.

It does have some disadvantages. I have a Hostgator account with a few add on domains. Somehow these domains are connected with each other. I used 1 domain for an Adwords campaign while I had Adsense on other domains. After 1-2 days my Adsense income dropped (per click). It recovered when I canceled the Adwords campaign.
