Facebook is officially dead in terms of marketing purposes!

Hey Warriors,

I have an active account on Facebook in hopes to make connections and maybe make some easy sales. This has worked for me before, but no matter how hard i try, the same connections that once brought me sales are now standing idle. They simply just aren't working. I hoped that by forming groups and establishing online "friendships" with people, new ones anyway, this would certainly bring me back to the days that i could make an easy sale through Facebook! Is this the same way for anyone else. I don't know maybe Facebook isn't the right place to promote things anymore.

Yeah. What's the point of having friends if you can't exploit them for monetary gain?

I think people are tried of being sold all the time, they go to socialize, not shop. There are so many people trying to sell stuff, that a big percentage of FB have seen it all, they are fed up...

There's a lot of folks that are still making good money off of FB, but the poter above had it right in saying that people are tired of being sold to all the time.

You have to adapt and figure out ways to sell without seeming like you are selling.

If you can figure out that key, you're going to be rolling in the dough.

People get tired of being sold to.

They don't get tired of having their problems solved.

I'd advise you to either find more and different people, or find friendlier, faster, and more useful ways to help your contacts. Facebook is just a set of 1's and 0's.

It's the living, breathing human beings on the other end that are your problem.

By reading the title I thought you are saying WF is dead LOL

Anyway, the FB is for building relationship and not for marketing in the first place, if you want to market on FB, only effective way is to buy ad space on FB, hope that helps.

I believe people love to be sold to but that doesn't mean they'll buy everything... You still have to overcome their objections and assuming people don't like to be sold to will result in a lot less profit for you.

Of course, solving a problem they have is part of the equation but not always the case. For example, today I wasn't planning on buying anything and I didn't have a problem with my current membership setup but when Member Rocket launched I bought it...

Why, because they overcame all my objections and it looked a lot easier to work with than my current setup so I purchased it for future projects I MAY have. I didn't have an immediate problem to solve and yet I spent over $80 because the seller overcame any objections I may have had. As a result of that I pictured myself the next time I'm setting up a product site and wondered if I wanted to experience the frustration of doing it the way I have in the past or do I want to do it the easy way.

You have to think about why people go to FaceBook and the type of mindset they are in when they decide to check out their account. So next time when you just randomly check out your FaceBook account to see if you have any messages or who's posted remember to take note of what frame of mind you're in at that time.

As some people above have said Facebook users are not ready to buy. They are socializing. However, I would say (theoretically speaking) that Facebook can be culd easily become addicted to reading your posts and updates there if they are really fans of the hobby. I do it all the time with football soccer pages on FB.

On the other hand, when it comes to desperate niches I would say that Facebook traffic may not be that good (again, theoretically speaking) because a person suffering from premature ejaculation or nail fungus is looking for their cure on Google, not on Facebook. In fact, I would say that they see Facebook as a means of forgetting about their problems for a while

I think social media is made to build relationships, to build rapport and to socialize..

Oh and CPA works cool with that.

It all began from seeing the potential of facebook in marketing since majority of internet users are using or does have fb account. Too bad it goes beyond the expectation. The first ones who created business pages, advertisements etc. became successful, but the succeeding marketers are not. That's why some marketers changes course and left facebook. Now they've seen Pinterest and Youtube for its potential. I'm just wondering if Pinterest and Youtube will have the same fate.

As a consumer I hate Facebook. That's nothing to do with marketing either. I still use it for PPC quite well and it pays my bills. But honestly, I still can't believe that Facebook does not let people share stuff with certain people easily. Everything is designed to make your life public to everyone.

For example, if I see a picture I think is perfect for "just one other person" Facebook will not let me share it with just one person. If I make a "Friends List" using Facebook, I will have to tell Facebook twice that I do not want to share a certain post with everyone - only then can I select my Friends list.

There are 100s of examples like this with FB. but my opinion here is an unpopular one. The vast majority of people don't even know what I'm talking about here. I think FB is rude. To be honest, I can't believe the sheep of the world are cool with it...

As for marketing. I love it :p

FB is perfect for gossiping and stalking other people's awesome lives. It's a great place as well for cyberstalking and cyberbullying. :p

Kidding aside, it's purely meant for social networking so you don't have to be all 'salesy' in there and expect some leads.

  • You can also say that you lose your 'easy sales' because of the competition. Many marketers are using Facebook. The more competitors in the same ground, the harder it is to market brands, that's the fact.

Just because you have failed, DOES NOT MEAN that no one can succeed!!

I am always blown away by the arrogance of an assumption that states, "If I couldn't do it, then it cannot be done..."

I imagine that the next leap of faith you can take with this thinking is that "if you cannot bang my girlfriend, then I must be lying about actually getting some..."
