Long or short sales pitch?

I am currently looking to promote an affiliate product on the first page of my blog and am still undecided on how to lay out my sales page. Do I write a long sales page and then direct them to the affiliate sales page which is another long sales page. Or should I produce a shorter page with just a video promoting the product and an explanation why people should click through to the long sales page. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I suggest you to write short sales page because it is very precise and very detail. And less mistakes, because if you make long sales page the more mistakes it could have.

    This is an age old question that has been answered many times.

    The answer is always the same.

    People will read as much information as it takes to give them all of the important information about what they're interested in.

    Long sales copy works - if it's all informative detail.

    Short copy works - if it tells all the important details of the product.

    There's no such thing as 'too long' as long as the information is relevant.

    There IS such a thing as 'too short', because leaving questions unanswered will lead to lower conversions.

    Of course the product/niche may affect the amount of detail required. You probably need less words to describe a stick of gum than a new car.

    So - whatever your model, you need to get all of the relevant information in front of the prospect so that they can make their decision to buy - leave anything out and they may just click away to find the rest elsewhere.

    In a case like yours I would use a short page, sort of a opt-in page with bullet points why they should visit your affiliate product.
