Better to post blog content all once or over a period of days?

Hi,

My blog is really starting to come on now with increased hits and finally starting to earn some revenue.

I have written up enough entries to update daily for the next 90 days.

My question is, is it more effective to publish these daily or just add them all at once?

Obviously for return readers, updates would be good. But I'm getting about 75% of my traffic from search engines and referrals. Most of it is new visitors.

The benefit of adding all the content at once would be more stuff to be indexed by the search engines, more content to keep readers on the site longer and looking at more pages. A new visitor could come, see only 2 months of pages, then never return, even though I have another 90 articles in queue waiting to publish!

Can't find any info on google about this!

Thanks!

If you want to survive for longer in search engines, then consistency is very important.

Google's spiders crawl sites / Blogs after certain intervals,,,, but when fresh content is added to your blog / site on regular bases,,, Google's spiders will crawl your site more frequently and this is certainly good for your ranking. Google's Spider’s frequent crawling on your website will certainly increase the possibility of your blog /site getting ranked higher on the keywords when users search for it and hence chances of getting more visitors to your site.......

Also, when you are adding fresh content on regular basis, its good to keep your visitors return to your site...

Also, when you add all content at once, I dont think your visitors / readers will be very interested to read them at once......... as not many people have time to read such a big amount of content at one time..

I have made that mistake,,, I added 40 articles to one of my new dating sites at once, the site ranked well in google,,, but then I didnt have any more content to add to it for months and the site got disappeared from Google...

So yes my vote is to add them on regular basis and not at once...

You have written 90 days worth of content!???

Holy crap, I only manage 1 article per day, I'd love to be that far ahead then I could just concentrate all my efforts on traffic generation

I have to agree! With any blog I try to schedule out the blog posts so that they update everyday. Then when I have free time to write more content I publish them at any time and it helps with ranking! But the key is to always have daily updates/posts schedule

Thanks very much for your feedback, this was very useful, as indeed posting value frequently is better, even if some people don't see it, If you have a blog you must provide value, because it's your reputation you're building!

I wouldn't post them all at once.

Set up a list of ping sites, as well as some auto bookmarking sites like Stumble and Digg.

Then just put the articles in a queue and have them post once every other day. You don't need to have them post EVERY day.

After a little while Google is going to see that you have fresh content posted to your site regularly and thus will have the Google spiders crawl your site more frequently. You will soon notice that your indexing rate is going to be so short that articles will get indexed and ranked in a matter of hours or even minutes.

Although mine is an inexperienced view, I think I would put very many articles at first on the blog and then later add in other articles regularly or periodically

I would also recommend to add the content slowly. Set it up for every second day and if there is something what might be extremely useful for readers than add this asap

In my limited experience and with keywords that are admittedly nothing to brag about in terms of search count/competition, I've managed to hit the first page of Google in just a few days by posting every day in my IM product review blog.

I have an Amazon affiliate blog that hit the first page after about a month by posting every few days (varying from every day to 3 days depending on when I had time to work on it). Again, the keywords aren't anything to brag about although tougher than the IM product review ones.

Based on that, I think posting over time has a positive effect on your Google ranking.

Don't let 1 article a day stop you. Post daily. Consistency is the key. SEO is great but once you build a following wherein there is great engagement and activity, your site will get even more powerful. You'll build a community. Keep blogging daily and that's exactly what will happen. I go as much as blogging 4-5 times/day.

At the start especially, quantity matters. However, when you have a good number of articles up already, then quality is essential. The sky's the limit. It's all up to you how many times per day you'd like to blog. As long as your site has daily activity, that's all that matters. People would be looking forward for your new stuff so give it to them. :-)

Nice Job...90 days worth of content is impressive. Thats the kind of work ethic it takes to make something happen for yourself online.

I would spread it out...like dating world said, consistency is important for seo. If you use wordpress they have a scheduled post submission feature too..

Hi, Just schedule each post. You could say release one every 2 days. The Spider bots will love it, so will your returning visitors.

    Well done.

May 2013 be a huge success year for you.
