Default My first 4 figure day :)

I did a quick promotion for Niche blueprint during it's relaunch last month.

This was just on a whim, as I had never really tried to promote such a high price product before, nor one in the MMO niche (outside of ebay).

Over the course of 2 days I eventually made 7 sales at $279 commission a pop, for $1729

Now, this is probably 'piddly' compared to everyone else who promoted it, but it really opened my eyes to the potential of higher priced items!

This has really reinvigorated me.. Since then, I've refocused my efforts on products with higher price points (and membership sites) and my income has taken a dramatic leap.

Yanik Silver was right - it takes the same (or even less) effort to sell these bigger ticket items, yet the pay off is so much greater!

I was in the process of making and eventually marketing my first ebook to one of my niches, but this has convinced me to think much bigger and also make a higher priced physical product, as well as a continuity program.

===========================
>> Now for a bit of a rant:
============================

If I've said it once, I've said it 100 times: do as the guru's do Their methods are right out in the open for everyone to learn from.

For the record - I didn't actually pull the trigger and get started with IM and affiliate marketing until last March.

Instead of endless complaining and debating over the effectiveness of what 'the gurus' do, and crying about being marketed to, I've tried to emulate them.

Red headlines and all

And you know what? It's worked to the tune of 7k a month - and I have been doing this on the side, during my spare time and evenings.

Nothing I do is remotely cutting edge or new (besides using video) to anyone who's been active here for more then a month or so. I am no superstar, guru, or even a super affiliate - but I am pretty happy with what IM has done for me over the course of the past 12 months.

So LEARN from the greats instead of trying to second guess them.. go to amazon and buy books from direct marketing legends like Dan Kennedy. Learn from those who have blazed the trails ahead of you. Look at the affiliates consistantly paying for adwords and see what sort of sites/approaches they are using (they won't continue to pay for ppc unless they are makng money from it some way).

Analize and learn from the people who are already where you want to be.

OK - rant over

-Jason

Bravo Jason! It's great to see someone who gets it.

You are 100% correct - there's zero guesswork involved in figuring out "how to earn big money online." It's being shown to you 24 hours a day in every niche imaginable by the most successful marketers on the planet.

Translation:

If you simply observe the core elements of what ANY successful marketer is doing to earn huge dollars in niche X, then you duplicate those same core elements in niche X... you WILL earn serious money in niche X. Guaranteed.

Way to GO!!!

I saw a 30 Days show (that show put out by the guy who ate at McDonalds for 30 days and almost killed himself by wrecking his health) the other day about a guy who lost his job due to outsourcing and who thought it was so unfair. Normally I don't pay attention to that kind of show, but it was particularly interesting because he was a computer programmer, and he was upset about not being able to find a job. Immediately I thought of some of the programmers on this site, Robert Plank among them. Robert has managed to do some programming and marketing that has him taking home more in a single month than he does all year at his day job. He's still at the day job because it's what he wants to do last time I read his blog, but I couldn't help but think, "Man oh MAN is this guy missing out!" (The guy on the show, not Robert!)

But it was kind of funny, because this particular guy on the show figured, since he had lost his job to someone in India, he was going to India to get his job back! He learned a lot while over there, but I kept thinking to myself, "why doesn't this guy get on Craigslist or Elance or Rentacoder or . . . ? and go find himself another way to make money instead of looking for a J O B?! He would probably make more money that way if he were any good, anyhow. And if he's not very good he's probably not likely to find a job anytime soon, either.

At any rate, congratulations on your recent successes! Way to go!

Einstein once said: "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Winston Chuchill said, "If you are going through Hell, keep going."

I'm curious on where you find these products to promote, can't seem to find any on clickbank. What affiliate vendor do you use?

On another note, Congratulations! I'm sure you'll have many more.

Maybe you'll make a WSO telling us how one day.

I actually do a lot with CB.. but it's become almost a hobby of sorts for me to hunt down interesting products to promote.

I am on a ton of lists, and I when I got the time I try to check out what they are promoting. If it looks interesting, I'll look to see if they have a link for their affiliate program.

If they don't have a link, I'll go to their check out page and see who they are using. This was how I found out Niche blueprint was on paydotcom..

I also click on a lot of google ads, and do the same

lol... as long as I continue to avoid wso's and a sig file, I'll be able to avoid turning my time on the WF into a popularity contest If I ever do promote anything here, it will probably be software/tools related..

Great stuff Jason and congrats on the BIG day.

(And don't play it down, sometimes the biggest breakthrough's you'll ever get come from simply experiencing what IS possible.

Don't be surprised when you start getting more an more days at this level... until you hit your next level )

I'm always telling people to create high-ticket items as soon as possible.

Just as easy to sell, only a little more difficult to create, and customers generally like them a LOT more.

Thought About Offline Consulting?
Fiona - $5,500 + $600/m 1st Week... Anthony - $7k + $594/m... Liz - $12k 1st Month...
Rob - $7k + $800/ 1st Month... Scott - $45,000 in 3m... 20/yo Jock 6-Figure Client 2nd Month
Don't you deserve the same unfair advantage?

Actually, for a product in that price range, I'm sure a lot of affiliates made fewer sales than you did. You'd be surprised how many only make 1 or 2 sales, even for a product that costs 1/10 as much.

yeah - it pushed me out of my comfort zone, and made me realize that I already have everything I need in order to pull in much bigger money, and that the opportunity has been right there for my taking for a while now.

In hindsight, this was really a bit of a watershed moment for me. No more playing around I'm going to be much more aggressive over the next few months and see how deep this rabbit hole goes

Excellent post! I've been hearing more and more of BIG ticket items as opposed to smaller. The bigger ticket always seems to be intimidating for some reason. I guess after you've done it once the fear is displaced with ambition and you're off to the races!!

Good for you! Keep goin!

what's funny is that we have all heard it before, and it makes sense to us on an intellectual level.. Yet it took a spur of the moment decision to open my eyes and make me actually say "that's it - this is what I am concentrating on".

I beg to differ. You are a super-star! You learned what it takes to succeed and YOU DID IT. You didn't just think about it, or put it on your wishlist, or move onto the next big-thing, or give up at the first opportunity! You just did it.

That makes you a super-star, my friend. Congrats!
