Promoting a CB product but no interest in building list

Say you want to improve conversions for a CB product that you would like to market as an affiliate but have no interest in building a list because the niche doesn't particularly interest you other than making some one off sales, do you create a single page review for that product or do you make a mini site around it?

Should the review be on its own domain or can it be part of an existing site, either a a page or as a subdomain?

Should the review look like your an ordinary article page or look look like a sales template?

I just can't figure what would work best?

This is like saying you want to be a professional basketball player but you don't want to learn how to shoot because you can make the occasional lay-up when there is no competition near you.

You already know what will "work best". List-building. For chrissakes, it's easy. I have one 4-email autoresponder sequence that makes me $500 +/month that I haven't touched in months. Here are the last 5 days worth of commissions for that autoresponder sequence I've ignored for months:

    Stop being lazy, people.

Then you have no interest in making long term money., maybe you should rethink that. To answer your question, you should always make it look like an ordinary article, not like you are promoting it

Just because you have no interest in the niche doesn't mean you can't still make money off subscribers and buyers in that niche by offering related products in other niches.

Say the niche you despise is "acne cure." You could still nurture the prospects in that niche to purchase other skin care products, or beauty secrets, of personal development how-to products.

      Just think creatively.

      I agree with Alex!

There's not really an option here, if you want to succeed online you need to build a list. It's a long-term asset!

    No; I don't bother.

There are over 15,000 products on ClickBank. Over the last 4 years I've found 30 I can promote by building lists, and I'm sure there are at least another 30+ there with which I could do the same, too. Why would I want to try to promote one I'm not going to be able to sell because I'm not building relationship with the customers and ensuring that they trust me? It would make no sense at all.

Building a list in a niche in which you do have some interest will work best, Anton.

List building is essential, in my opinion. And that's the opinion of others making a living from ClickBank, too. There are a few hundred threads in this forum with titles like "What's The One Thing You'd Do Differently If You Were Starting Again Tomorrow?". Take a look through a small sample of them. Seriously - it's one of the most helpful things you can do. You'll find that one of the things they all have in common is that they're full of replies from long-established, successful Warriors all of whom give the same answer: the thing they'd do differently, with what they know now but didn't know when they started, is "start to build a list on day 1". There are reasons for that. I understand (from your question) that you don't have a list. If you want to earn money from promoting ClickBank products, I advise you to start building one tomorrow. Most people who try to earn a living by promoting ClickBank products don't succeed. This is simply factual. To stack the deck totally against yourself by not building a list, and still succeed, really is going to be terribly difficult. I wouldn't be able to do it, and respectfully, I don't think you will, either. Sorry, I know it's not what you want to hear. Unfortunately, however, that doesn't stop it from being true.

Slightly off topic but I love seeing the payment reports of people that make this their living. So much motivation. Thank you for letting us see that and thanks for the info as usual Alexa.

I did not realize the amount of products that are actually viable compared to the amount actually out there. That will sure save me a ton of time figuring out

I'm not suggesting there are only 30/60 out of 15,000 that are "viable", I hasten to add: I'm sure there are loads. I was only talking about the good quality ones with good sales pages which I myself can sell easily (and write articles relevant to their niches).

It's true there are a lot of products there that I wouldn't touch, as well ...

These are my product selection criteria: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post2161932

If you don't want to build a list then simply don't place an opt-in form on your review site. Just promote the product in question.

I should clarify that I am going to be building a list or two but not for this particular niche. I have just come across a product after doing thorough research and I think I can drive some targeted traffic to. I don't have enough interest in the niche to be sending out emails about it. I just want to do the initial review and then play around with PPC.

YOU MUST BUILD A LIST for anything that you want to sell. People are really skeptical and they need to trust you to buy from you. Its like asking a girl to give it up the first time meeting you. You have to take her out on dates and woo her. Some make you meet their mom before going all the way. BUILD A LIST!!!

After everyone stressed the importance of list building, can anyone answer the question that was asked?

I haven't done enough testing to find out what really works the best on single SB product because I try to focus on few products that generally interest me, but I can give you a few tips.

It all depends on the traffic you will drive to it. If you're going for paid traffic a pre-sale page works well. It can be on a sub domain if you don't want buy a new one. If you're going for organic traffic than go with exact match domain if possible (despite the new update they still work well if you know what you're doing).

      We did.

We all answered it either expressly or at least inferentially. My answer was "No, I don't bother".

The OP asked "What works best?" and the answer is that choosing another product/niche for which you do want to build a list works best. "That's the way it is".

I'd make a mini site around it. It can be on a different page, doesn't have to be on sub domain. You'll make money with this model and list building also. Just make sure you know how to drive targeted traffic to your site easily.
