As a new starter I realize how invaluable a mentor would be. When I was learning web development my mentor taught me 5x faster than I would have able to learn alone.

So I have a few questions for you seasoned IMers out there.

Where is the best place to look?
What should I be wary of?
How much should I be willing to pay?
What sort of questions should I ask to see if they are legitimate?

I have no problem with spending money to get someone really worth it, for example a random Egyption man added me on skype and said he saw me on the forum and offered to mentor me for $650 per month

Those of you that have been mentored could you recommend some names if at all possible?

I am very eager to push forward my learning so any help is much appreciated

Teach yourself and save the money for investing in your own business. There really aren't any special hidden secrets to IM, all the info you need to get started is easily available.

I'm not looking for some hidden formula don't get me wrong but I know from Spencerian in other fields mentors are invaluable. Someone willing to answer your questions and help you out when you hit that wall. Saves you a ton of time and develops you at a much quicker rate... at least in my prior experiance

I've heard a lot of people recommend a coaching/mentoring program by a member on here called Kenster. A quick Google search should bring it up.

I've mentored a few people here, got the reviews to prove it although normally I don't go around shouting my name from the rooftops.

If you need a hand though with a quick question Jack - do feel welcome to get in touch.

If you're looking for more regular direct hands on help - we can discuss fees at a later stage if we must.

      Smoking hot,

      Mark Andrews

Good thread I will use that

I actually made a post yesterday and outlined many of those things in another thread.

It would be good if we had somewhere to actively seek mentors on here because im not exactly sure where I should be posting.

Chose your mentors wisely. Everyone needs them, but make sure they are 'walking the walk' so to speak. If you cannot see proof that they are actually doing what they say they are each day then do not bother. There are too many fake 'gurus' out there especially when it comes earning money online.

Incase a potential mentor comes across this thread I am going to post up what Mark Andrews outlined.

My name is - Jack Carr

    Age - 19

    From - North-East England, Durham

Experience to date - I have little experience with Internet Marketing. I have been interested in it for a long time but I now have matured and have the time to focus most of my energy towards it

Previous accomplishments - Taught myself web development to a decent level in 2 months, got myself a online apprenticeship (working for free) with a web company specialising in free online education. I started a game server team and we have been together for a couple of years. Although the servers are no longer active, that was the first time I made money online.

My hobbies, interests, and pastimes are - I guess I am slightly different to most people my age I don’t really enjoy going out drinking I enjoy reading and studying the top players in life, I like to see what I already have in common with them and how I can improve. I am interested in self development, web design, development and entrepreneurial ventures. I love go-karting I hope I can fund myself to take up karting again, as a kid my father got me into racing turns out I was pretty good and won quite a few things but the competition got tougher as I grew up and we did not have the money to keep up.

How much I'm willing to invest in myself per month - $300/500 obviously more as I progress and earn a steady income

My precise goal is to - Bring in a passive income good enough to progress my other ventures and help people around me.

I would like to achieve this goal by - January 2014

I want to do this for a number of reasons, the obvious being a great passive income. But what do I want to do with that income?

1.) I want to progress my startup I am very passionate about it but do not have the monetary backing to take it to the next level
2.) I do not want to be involved with the rat race, from a very early age I have never understood why someone would or could live like that.
3.) I want to let my parents retire happy, my father is 67 and still working. If I could supplement his income so he didn’t have to work it would make me the happiest son.

Ill throw two names into the hat: Eric Louviere and Jeff Combs. Both a bit expensive (as in at least 1k. Eric's pricing is variable, and jeff's is 2k). However, they are top of the line, they WILL get you results.

and 100% agree with Kyle Tully if small biz consulting is the way you want to go. Investing in his program and made a significant return before I changed biz models. (His program was $700, and I have made at least 10k using his methods)
