Default Where to start?

I'm new to the IM world and could possibly be facing a job layoff in the near future.I'm really sick of relying on someone else or some company for an income and feel I can do better on my own with the proper education.I feel confident in my abilities and learning curve. My only obstacle at the moment is I have a limited amount of funds ( almost $0) to invest in IM starting out.I have read about the War Room as well as article marketing but want to learn more.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

article marketing and clickbank are going to be the way to go until you start to make a little money. At some point you are going to have to invest in a program. Best to get in a mentoring program you will not be able to do it on your own and having a mentor will greatly increase your chance of success.

I would suggest you start out with the "bum marketing" technique. It's easy for beginners, and requires zero money.

Go to Digital Products Retailer: Affiliate Program & Sell Online - ClickBank, find a product that interests you, and build a free blog or squidoo lens. Fill your lens with good, interesting content that is related to your chosen product, write several articles optimizing for long-tailed keywords, and submit to Ezine Articles with a link to your blog or squidoo lens.

You can learn a WORLD of information for free at Travis Sago's Bum Marketing Method - Free Traffic Tips - you don't have to spend a dime for this, and you will learn all about long-tail keywords, competition, etc.

Try this - you will be surprised how easy it is to make money!

Good luck

Well the first thing about about internet marketing is you have to find passion and motivation.

If you are going to be working full time doing internet marketing, then you have be able to devote several hours a day to working, just as you would a normal job.

Do research and figure out what you enjoy, take the time to research various niches and find what interest you the most. Then take the time to research how you will make your niche that you choose stand out from the rest. Once you find that, take the time to down and figure out how you will reach your goal.

There are several ways to market online:

  • Article Marketing
  • Blog Posting
  • Forum Posting
  • Directory Submission
  • Press Releases
  • and more

Hi James...Welcome!

Google Chris Farrell. He is excellent at teaching newbies where to start and step by step how to do it...from scratch. He has come out with an excellent Membership site that is very affordable...only $1 to join for 7 days, then $27 month. It is sooooo worth it tho. This will be all you'll need for a while to get you going. it will save you loads of money. Good luck!

Hi, James

So far you've gotten several good tips on where to start in the IM field.

Any one of them can make you a profit - how big is up to you.

But, let me stress this point to you, please -

Whatever you decide to try - STICK WITH ONE PROGRAM -

Please don't make the mistake so many starting out make, and try something for a few days, realize they haven't made a million, then jump to something else before giving the first program an opportunity.

I see so many start out like this, as I did myself, and it will only bring you to a point of near disgust in this field.

So, please - look at several options - PICK ONE - then put your heart and soul into it.

Then, if after every effort to make it work, it doesn't, chunk it and move on.

Hope this helps.

Robert

I agree with looking at the Chris Farrell site.

His free stuff is worth more that a lot of the others that charge.

I also recommend article marketing as the way to start. Find a product on Clickbank and start promoting it through articles.

Here are a few quick tips on writing your article:
- Write at least 500 word article
- Have only 2-3 links in the article
- Have only one product recommendation per article

I would also start websites on Hubpages and Squidoo promoting a Clickbank product. Just remember to add good content. You could also have one of your links in your articles pointing to the Hubpage/Squidoo-page. Sometimes people are more likely to pick up your article, if you're not directly promoting a product.

Hopefully this should get you going.
