Morning all, new here as you will probably notice and trying to get my head around the reams and reams of information on here.

I am strictly speaking a newb at all this, though I do have some background and understanding. Many moons ago I used to make my beer/socialising money from affiliate sales, mostly in adult before jobs and life got in the way a bit. This was the early days of the internet and making a few ££ was as simple as falling off a log. With hindsight why did I ever stop.

What I would like to do is to try and and generate a living from this, and would ideally like some pointers as to which direction to head as a newbie starting out. I feel I could actually drown in a sea of information here without a bit of guidance if I'm not careful.

So suggestions welcome as to where to focus my efforts initially. I am likely to be in the situation early in the new year of being able to set aside twelve months to have a proper crack at this, having money to live on and a roof over my head which is also paid for. This means that budgets for investing will be tight, but I'm kind of hoping that time and elbow grease being available would outweigh maybe a larger budget and a lot less time.

What can I do? I can write reasonably well, have some familiarity with Wordpress (have blogged for pleasure for several years) basic knowledge of html and site building/hosting etc and have worked for over a decade in sales so have some ability there too. I have a number of affiliate accounts set up as well as a Google adsense account which is functioning.

Any suggestions on an opening strategy to read/learn/act upon would be gratefully considered. I'd like to focus my efforts early, I know that with my character I'm liable to work like hell and achieve nothing due to a scattergun approach if I'm not careful.

Hopefully this post is not breaking any rules (I did peruse them first) and I look forward to any suggestions from those of a more experienced hue.

You mention that you've done blogging for pleasure for several years. Maybe you should consider doing it professionally by setting up your own blog?

A great young man that has had great success setting up a blog (and who is presently running a blogging challenge) has a website where you can opt-in to his list to get a great book on the topic when you visit http://www.youngprepro.com . He is presently setting up a blog from scratch to put his reputation on the line & it seems to be working out for him pretty quickly.

The only thing I think he should do differently is sell to his list more often - he keeps providing some great written resources to people who join his lists, but he almost never sends any kind of sales message.

The tactics he teaches are to write posts more as a paid freelance author for a living, so keep in mind that you can monetize your blog in other ways than writing for others if that is not your thing.

Another blogger who I've followed is Nate Rivers - he has some great training about blogging and niche websites: How to Start a Blog That Makes Money | StrayBlogger

Anyway, hope these resources help - if you are already blogging for enjoyment I highly recommend you roll with the direction you are already in. Take things to the next level!

Hi if you are new to Warrior forum I recommend taking a look at WARRIOR MONEY SCHOOL made by Jeff Noyes. It will show you how to get started here in Warrior Forum. I can´t link to it because you are only allowed to link to your own products in this forum. Any way a search for the term " WARRIOR MONEY SCHOOL" should do it for you.

Thanks guys, will have a search for the warrior money school. Some nice tips there Randall thanks, I'll have a good read, blogging seems to be the most obvious route for me, both in terms of my natural abilities and something which I know I can enjoy and hopefully shouldn't become a chore, but it's nice to get some confirmation and get pointed in the right direction

Well, if you have something to sell and are considering to sell
your own product, consider these in priority order...

    1) Your talents, skills & competence. (NOT your interest,
hobby or passion - unless it is what you're excellent at)

    2) What problems can ONLY YOU solve?

    3) What kind of advice can you give to solve the problem?
