A couple of years ago I decided to take the plunge and created a website in the health niche. Wrote around 25-30 articles but was struggling to get my head around SEO. Exams and later on being busy with by writing commitments meant that I slowly let the site slide. Apart from a couple of articles at ezine, one guest article and a BOTW directory link, I have not worked on the site with regards to SEO or IM. The site however gets decent traffic (at least in my eyes) and is averaging around 100 visitors for the last couple of months while the one year average is 2200 uniques pm.

Now I have decided to concentrate more on the site and have cut down on my work load with just two of my highest paying and long term jobs which take around 50-60 hours a week. However the problem with IM persists. My knowledge about IM is Google-centric but on reading various posts, I realize that Google is just one part of many traffic sources and if you get the others right, SEs are automatically taken care of. Though about investing in PPC or ads with other blogs but the problem is that the site in question is not an affiliate site but instead an information site. Not thought too much about monetization so far but I believe adsense will form a major slice of income generation. So it is not likely that PPC will be effective strategy.

I am confused on what my next step should be. Should I sign up for a membership site (someone like Chris Farrell or Wealthy Affiliates) to learn IM or should I shell out loads of money for a coach? Another possibility is going into a JV with someone willing to teach me the ropes and taking over most or all of the income generated (willing to do it even if it means creating a new website)

If you have time to study on your own - do it! Everything that is sold in any membership or WSO is already available on the internet!
Problem is that you must know what to look for and it will also take a lot of your time!

If you dont have time BUT have money to spend, getting into a highly efficient membership is advisable. Keep in mind that IM membership sites focus on some IM strategies more than on others. So before signing up to anything, read reviews and see what their focus is on!
Don't just google for reviews, as you will get all those hyped up affiliate reviews! Search on WF or imreportcard.com or other relevant sites.

At my time i was helped a lot by Google Sniper training, but now it became a hyped up product and it is just not what to was 1,5 years ago!

So far the best IM coaching program (as imrecportcard says) is Chris Farrell's IM Coaching!

    Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did think about Chris Farrell Membership but I have no idea whether they are willing to answer personal questions rather than just provide generalized information that many other books do (did purchase quite a few) Contacted the team and asked them about it but received a very generic 2 line reply (from someone called James) saying that I can access various strategies and ideas and I should instead sign up and see whether the membership suits me. Maybe I will just follow his advice and go in for the one-week trial as it will cost me all of $1 :p The thing is, I am searching for a membership site that is willing to answer personal doubts/questions regarding MY site. For example if I get stuck somewhere, they should help me out by giving specific advice on how to improve my site instead of offering advice regarding general strategies..doesn't matter if they charge extra for that

@italiangrecko - You should TEST by monetizing the site 'as is' (why have you not already done this?). Once you know the financial return on that website, you can then evaluate whether it is worthwhile to ramp up your activities and efforts with that site. You have no real hard data to work with at the moment other than being aware of the fact that your site is still getting steady traffic. Look at monetization methods suitable for that site and then test them out to see which one is giving you the best return.

Personally I think you are headed in a good direction and you need to just keep digging until you find the answers you are looking for. This is a good place to get advice from experienced people.

And I agree with your earlier reply also. You don't always get specific nuts and bolts answers to questions about your sites and setups from some places. I wish we did too. You simply have to have the determination to keep working and trying stuff and keep coming to forums like this for answers. I don't know much about your initial question but I wanted to tell you to keep working on the issue until you find what you are looking for. I am a full time craftsman, and this forum is basically full of internet craftsmen, if you will. Plenty of good knowledge here.
