Settling with lesser popular host and domain registrar

I live in India, and I have a weird situation when it comes to making online payments. I have a debit card, but I don't have a credit card. It is quite difficult to get a credit card in India as you either need to submit your employment letter (if you're an employee) or tax returns of 2 years (if you're an employer) in order to get one. The debit card I have isn't accepted by every online vendor. Paypal is very limited in India as you just can't make any purchases with it.

Well, the problem I have is that I can't buy domains and host with my debit card. Namecheap, GoDaddy, and HostGator do not accept it which is why I'm considering resorting to a lesser popular option, and by that I mean national brands. BigRock is called India's GoDaddy, and so I'm considering buying domains from there, and recently HostGator opened its Indian offshoot hostgator.in. I'm pretty sure that my debit card will work on these two sites. For the autoresponder, as of now I'm making do with the free version of iContact.

For me, these are temporary options because once I have enough money, I'll open a fixed deposit which will fetch me a credit card, and then I can move onto the bigger players.

What would you recommend in my situation? Do you think I should choose the national brands? How difficult is it to transfer domains and hosts to other providers?

    I only have a debit card and I use it for Godaddy and Hostgator. You can use your debit card like a credit card.

      My debit card is very limited. Doesn't work on HostGator, GoDaddy, and Namecheap. Mostly, it doesn't work on major international sites.

      He Is from India, his cards have less privileges and options, same with his Paypal.

      He Is looking for a solution to that.

      What the person said above me, If It's a legit trusted site, I would go with that option to get an International card.

    Do they sell prepaid C.C's in India? like Visa and master card prepaid? if they do, that would be your best option...

    Dude Open saving account with icici. They will give you international debit card free(mastercard). You can use it with both godaddy or hostgator. I use it

    icici international debit card will work everywhere. If you want credit card specifically you can get it against FD. You can get a credit card by doing fixed deposit of Rs 20,000 with SBI

      Mine doesn't work everywhere.

      Everybody else, please read my problem before replying. Most replies I've gotten so far give me solutions which I've already mentioned are useless.

    I don't have any experience with Big Rock but they are quite popular in India - Domain Registration | Domain Name Registration India | Domain Search | Web Hosting India
    Maybe they would work for your situation. Does anyone here have any experience with them?

    You'll do fine with alternative hosts. The big ones are overcrowded. Many alternative hosts offer better options.
