Can I read emails subscribers send me?

I haven't signed up for an autoresponder service yet so my view is a little murky.
I'm preparing my email sequence at the moment and think it would be a good idea to ask my subscribers to respond to me in some of them.

Where would I receive these emails? As far as I understand, the autoresponder is its own email ID you're given by the service provider and doesn't come with an inbox.

You put the "from" email in the list settings. If people respond, it comes to the email you put in your settings. No problem.

Ah thanks mate. However, if I have a large enough list, wouldn't this conflict with the 500 email/hr limit that most hosting accounts come with?

Do you expect to get 500 replies per hour? Seriously though, that doesn't matter. I put gmail addresses in my autoresponder. If people reply to my follow ups or broadcasts it just comes to my gmail inbox like any other email reply.

I was referring to sending 500 emails an hour. Let's say I have a list of 2000 subscribers and I set the 'from' address as the email address associated with my domain. I then send a broadcast message out to all of them using my autoresponder, I imagine this would conflict with my email sending limit.

It doesn't go out through your email... just when the subscribers respond it will be directed to the email you input in the auto-responder settings.

That's why you are asked to input this information with each new list you create.

The email is being sent from the auto-responder services servers

what I do is have a help desk site set up and put that link in each email. Then all emails from customers are directed there or just include a personal email in each email your AR sends out..

I considered this this but I don't want to put them off by making them compose a new email to respond to me. I'd rather have them just hit reply if they want to talk to me.
