What if you don't have any unique and valuable content?

Hi guys, I've been thinking about creating my website for quite some time, but still haven't figured out which niche should I tap into. Can you guys share some of your ideas?

What was it like to create your own very first website that you could monetize later on?

How long did it take you find a profitable niche?

Even I have found the niche that has some huge potential to make some serious money, what if I don't have the ability or knowledge to create some original and valuable content to begin with? Should I outsource content creation?

I was wondering what the typical process is like to start a website that you can monetize.

Thanks

@xdrange - If it's your first website I HIGHLY recommend that you write all of the content yourself. By doing things this way you get to appreciate what is involved and what you should expect when outsourcing this task at a later date as you create more content/sites (etc). To begin with choose a niche you have knowledge of that you can write about naturally. Once you get started, everything will begin to flow and you'll get better/faster at it with practice.

If you don't have unique and valuable content; you will most likely be sued for plagiarism or will not get a decent traffic since you're not providing value on your content. If you have the skills go and do it yourself if not...well if you have the budget to hire someone, might as well outsource this task. It did take quite a long time before I figured out making profitable amazon and authority sites and now that I've mastered it and turned it into a business by building sites for aspirants who want to have their own sites saving money, time and effort in their part. I'm glad to say it is paying off quite well, and it feels great.

Obviously, you'll get less traffic, low success rate, and wasted time and effort if you don't have a unique and valuable content. The worst part is your site might get suspended for copyright infringement.

Especially for your first site, I'd choose a niche in which you do have the ability/knowledge to create some original and valuable content, even if it means starting off on a niche that might be "second-best" in income terms, because I think what you'll learn from doing it that way will probably be far more valuable than if you aim for a niche about which you don't feel so enthusiastic and have to outsource most of the content creation.

Specifically, I think you should avoid any niches related to "internet marketing advice" and "making money online": starting off in these markets is probably the single commonest cause of failure.

Content curation may be the answer. It is important to add your own opinions and value to whatever content you curate and make sure you link to the original author.
