Kindle book price + momentum

I have a non-fiction book nearly ready for Kindle. Self-improvement, health, fitness, diet niche.

It's not a huge book, but I think it's good. Very good. Will snowball. Maybe. I hope.

I'm wondering how to get some momentum behind it? I think that I need some good reviews.

Do I start with an ultra-low (or free) price to accumulate some initial attention, or ?

    Hi Suniltanna,

the 2 methods you have already outlined will definitely give your campaign that initial momentum. Reviews/ratings in particular will help a lot.

the best thing is to follow these three steps:
1-try to get about 5 reviews from friends and relatives.
2-enroll the book in KDP program ahese three days nd use 3 days (during those days promote like hell!)
3-after the free promo set the price to 99 cents for a week.

Great tips, doctor973! My book was recently published and accepted into the KDP program. I've been waiting for Amazon to connect the 2 versions (Kindle and Print) before I start promoting it. I will try your method and report back my results.

Currently I have 3 reviews from online friends (I figure offline friends close to me would be too suspicious if someone decided to check for a "trail" later down the road). Working on getting more reviews now. I am going to schedule my free days for Mon-Wed. I think more people are shopping for books on weekdays, especially for my genre (offline/local marketing). But my other 2 free days will probably be used on a weekend for testing.

      I'll check back soon.
