People Want Peace and Love

I don't think you need to write a big page explaining how to sell. You just need to know that people are driven by pretty basic desires. They either want to feel more at peace, or feel more loved. As you sell your products or services, when it is clear part of your intention is to provide more of this to them, its actually pretty easy to grow your business.

    There's a tad more to it than this simplistic statement my friend.

    Perhaps you could explain in generic terms since you're using a very broad brush to represent the entire market, how and why you don't need a 'big page explaining how to sell'.

    I guess all of the copywriters on this forum, for all this time, have each and every single one of them, been deceiving the market all along according to you? After all, why would we spend so much time teaching others everything we know, if it was as simple as you're trying to make it out to be?

    Of course people are all driven by a common number of psychological and emotional factors, again...

    ...please do go into this precise point in more depth so we can all learn from you - how to boost our conversion rates exponentially on the back of your advice.

    I look forward to seeing what you can come up with.

    You can vie for these words if you wish, but statistic shows that keywords such as: Scam, Greed, Make Money, are the hottest one yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

    Ideally peace and love would be great but often times those words don't pay the bills. =D

      Where do you find statistics that show which words are the hottest tomorrow? Don't you need a time machine for that?

    This is great. I only wish it worked... but it doesn´t.

    Thing is... in a perfect world of peace and love, money is useless, or should be.

    If you put only all those great intentions out there, you only get "entitled" freebie seekers (*shivers).

    I am already making my "pro bono" contribution to the world... trust me on this.

    Over here I want to learn how to get money in the equation, pay my bills, and reach the point where I don´t need to work. All that feeling it is fair for everyone involved (the customer, the planet and me).

    Can you do that? I would love to hear it.

      Actually, because of the way the brains are wired, men need a lil bit of healthy stress to drive. Women are the ones who are at their best when the basics are covered.

        We aren't all that different. You could have switched the words "men" and "women", and your statement would still be true, aside from the implied exclusion ("women are the ones").

        Everyone in the world needs the basics covered (food and shelter at a minimum), and everyone in the world will waste away bored out of their skulls with zero stress.

          mine was not a sex related statement in the sense you seem to see it. It is the result of research (not mine, of some folks who claim to know about it).

          Now... could that piece of research have holes bigger than the surface of the moon?

          Probably, science cannot be applied to life without pushing it. That works for medicine, btw.

      This can't really be contested.

      There is truth in what you say for life in general. However, in this business, you can't just write on your website that you desire to help them obtain those things in a very short article and expect to grow your business and make sales.

      People arrive at your site for information and solutions to many more things than that. Perhaps they arrive e there to actually purchase what you are selling. That short article about peace and love won't increase your bottom line I'm afraid.

      If it were so, there would be no need for writers of any kind.

      yep, that works a lot...

      I am in what can be considered a "desperate" niche. Most of the people who jump in want to learn how to turn off the antenna, so they can be functional.

      Run away from pain is what I see the most.

    The two main motivators are fear and greed. That might make some folks a bit queasy but it doesn't change the truth. And as unsavory as this might be it is used every day to sell the stuff the OP mentioned. Take love for example. The following paragraph is a blend of fear and greed. People fear they may never get to where they want to be (true love). Fear is the stick and greed is the carrot, like it or not.

    Are you getting your share of the love you deserve? Why not? Is it your stringy hair or your dog breath? Maybe it's your old tattered clothes. Do you think the ideal mate, that very special person you've longed for will accept you the way you are? Not likely, not without... Insert magic solution here__________.

    If you've pushed the right buttons in a compelling way it's likely you'll sell something. The fear of never loving. The pleasure (greed) of that special love you've waited for.

    Obviously I've exaggerated for effect but isn't this how we often make decisions? How many people would not have life insurance without someone scaring them into it by painting a bleak picture of how their family would whither away without that death benefit? Many. This is just how it is.
