What To Do With A 13 Year Old PR 5 Domain?

Hello warriors,
I am only knowledgeable when it comes to ClickBank and a bit on Organic SEO.

I ask for advice from those who are in the know.

I may have access to a 13 year old Domain with a PR of 5. The keyword it ranks for is some abstract music DVD. The company was recently bought out by a major record company, and I bought the original domain.

Question is this
What can be done (if anything) with the aged domain?

Can I rebuild it perhaps into a site for a specific niche? Would the PR of 5 help my rankings?

The Domain name would not be related to the products -
Basically my question is - with it being 13 years old and having a PR 5

1) What can I do with it?

2) Would a viable option be to build it up then maybe flip it later?

3) Or maybe just build it up into a niche site of sorts, taking advantage of the "Wine-Like" age?

Many Thanks For Reading

One thing I am not sure about is if these domains can lose their rank if they change ownership. Can anyone confirm this and if it can be avoided? I've got one that old too, but have always owned it.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

    Thanks - good question.

The hosting will probably change, but the 'owner' will remain the same, because the owner is a long time friend of mine, so we don't need to actually change any site information.

    Probably the hosting.

13 years and an established PR of 5 has got to be good for something.

I would build a site around it and flip it as quickly as possible. I've done it before and made a killing.

Would anyone use it for CB?

or as it seems like you're suggesting wordpressdoctor,

simply get some unique content about a niche up there and flip?

Edit* I also have a budget I can utilize with this. (i.e. paid traffic?)

Since it is PR5, a good number of backlink must have been built around the sites.
But PR and Age alone would not help much if there is little or no traffic to the site.

I would suggest building the site up with CB of similiar niche first and drive traffic to see if the sales convert.

If after a while there is no sales, try offering links placement to other similiar niche sites.

Finally if you are sick of it, just sell it on godaddy or SEDO auction.

Ever notice that people who spend money on WSO, memberships and courses, are always complaining about being broke and not making any money ?

They should have bought ASSETS instead.

    Thanks for the insight.

Looks like I'll build it around CB content related to the niche.

I think you might want to set a nice blog and use a content curator that deals with this tedious work... If you have a good page rank and set things right, i'm quite sure you can get a decent traffic in no time.
If it's about music, then you can add an amazon curator to your content, that should match with their affiliate program. Maybe iTunes also...

      Hi there.
Thank you for the suggestion with regard to Amazon curator. I didn't think of matching that up with CB. By curator, you do mean some sort of auto-feed/store/content, correct?

What great insight. Thank you all so much for your time and suggestions.
