Social Media Website's.

Hey Warrior's,

I have a couple question's regarding a Social Media website. I have an idea, and I think it's big. I don't want to go to much in the detail's about the the idea itself. What I need to figure out is how to go about this idea without it stolen. So here's the first question I have.

1. Is there any way I could protect this idea so I don't get it stolen?

I have no Idea how to go about this. I was thinking of putting my own blueprints together so that way the person I'm presenting it to could understand my idea, but I don't know where to start.

2. Is there anywhere I could look at (article, website, etc.) where It will give me an idea of how to start it?

I understand that this type of website takes a lot of money, but I'm willing to take the risk with this idea. I know I need a web developer's to do the site.

3. Off the top of your heads is there any good company's that you could refer? That you know will do a good job and will do all they can to have the best site done for me.

I'm looking to get a beta version done so that I can test the site and adjust as need be so. I would like to get this done in the cheapest way possible. What would be your method of going about this?

Thank you,
J.W

It is hard to protect your ideas in the current world we live in ... look at the number of clones out there. The best way to protect your business is to

    Business 101
    1) trademark
    2) Develop it fast and launching it fast to be the first mover
    3) Market like crazy and Growing the audience ( This is main factor why social websites survive or fail)
    4) Keep improving and adding new features to keep the audience

If you really want to get it big, you must do it in house.
Outsourcing the development gets you no where near the giants we see nowadays.

Hire a Project manager, HR Manager to start. You can cover the marketing and financing role first.

Ever notice that people who spend money on WSO, memberships and courses, are always complaining about being broke and not making any money ?

They should have bought ASSETS instead.

Well, you can't copyright an idea, but you can have potential programmers and staff sign a non-compete/non-disclosure contract before you give them the details. I don't know how much protection that would be if you are in the US and they are overseas, though.

There are numerous different freelance sites to find programmers. I use Elance when I need one.
