chosing a internet marketing mentoring coach, what things should be seen to know their teaching model is good, for example their teaching structure? pricing?

{I know reputation and pricing too}, but i am just on about the models of coaching strutures.

Eg they ask me my goals, they boost my confident, and then they take my $xxx until I am broke regardless of whether I achieve it or not ? lol

You should have a set of clear expectations and objectives for the outcome you personally need. No matter who you end up working with, that person needs to be able to outline to you what the expectations are short term, mid term, and long term. And, what that person outlines needs to be in alignment with your own expectations and objectives.

So you should have a clear set of objectives and the other person should have a clear set of objectives AND a way of measuring your progress, then you are in a position to move forward. If you don't have that, then the odds of success drop.

Ultimately you achieving your goals or not is up to you though, not a mentor or a coach.

That totally depends on the situation, could be you, could be the coach - should be a combination.

I coach business owners. We start with a full SWOT analysis, personnel analysis, review systems, processes, procedures, etc... For those clients the measurements are simple, we measure their expenses on a monthly and annual basis and measure their revenue on the same timelines. In those situations, my proposal is a 5X ROI on my fees, and we always hit it. In most small business, the company has horrible fundamentals so it isn't actually that hard. Now that is not the same as what happens for most in the online world, so it isn't exactly and apples-to-apples comparison.

For you, you need to first know what your goals are. Then you can talk about how to measure them. The challenge though, with any such relationship, is that there are two parts. The coach, or mentor, cannot make you do the work, so to speak.

When I assign a business owner a task, if that task is not done by our next meeting we have a problem. I then try to find out why that task was not done and we address that. However, if the owner will not do the work I am asking, I end the relationship.

If you are working on a personal relationship with someone, then together you can define goals. The coach can advise if they are realistic or not. Together you should be able to have clearly defined goals, and clearly defined means of measuring them. Those goals should not be all revenue based, though that is obviously the major measuring stick for most.

    Hi Craig

I came across this while I am listening to your interviews with Tiffany Dow.... great information!

Personally I think, you don't need a coach to teach you
mechanics. If you do, you need what's called a
teacher. Hopefully someone that has done successfully
    what you want to do.

What coaches are best for is working with you on mindset
    issues.

Example: You sit around for hours contemplating what's the
best domain name. What's going on here?

You've convinced yourself you are just trying to be smart
and get the best domain name. A good coach will help
you get to the real issue which may be a fear of rejection.
A better coach will help you clear that out so when you
sit to task, everything moves forward like a knife cutting
    through butter.

I'd avoid coaches in this niche for the fact that most of them
have no formal education on coaching.

I see people in this niche successful at one thing and
then decide to become a coach without ever reading
one book on how to really coach people.

As a result, these "coaches" give up and blame the clients
    for their coaching frustrations.

Whatever you want to do can be done just by using Google.
What Google can't help you with is getting to the root and
clearing the real reasons why you don't take action when
you know you should and want to. That's where a very skillful
    coach is worth millions.
