Should/How do I add an Affiliate offer to my site?

So I started a website mainly to do lead generation for a company I work for (and to promote a product that I created - kind of a win-win for me)

I want to make sure I do it right, and I've spent months to get to where I am today, but I'm just about at the 'launch' stage.

My question is: to drive a lot of traffic to the site should I add an 'affiliates' section to the site where I could hire people to be affiliates to sell the product, and if I do, what are the best tips to do so that you guys have seen work?

What I've thought of doing was going to a bunch of CPA networks and tell them I'm promoting the product and have them offer it to their affiliates, but also put it on my site - but I don't know exactly how to go about that either.

Just looking for tips and tricks from people who have done this before since I'm at that point to start driving mass traffic to the site at this point.

Spanks everyone!

Do you intend to pay a bounty through CPA, or a percentage of the sale?

    • My product is 47 dollars, and I think I'd pay 30 bucks for it flat.

Right. I'm just wondering the route you intend to take concerning payment method. Will affiliates have to refund commissions on refunded products?

CPA pays on the action and unless fraud is involved (very rare) the affiliate keeps his money even if the sale is refunded.

        • Yeah, even if the item is refunded, the affiliate won't have to worry about that. How I'm handing that is that I'm charging a rebill.

The affiliate get a one-time charge upfront, and then the rebills I get. On my product, there isn't a refund, (unless with within a 3-day right of rescission) but there is a cancellation policy.

List it with CPA networks. Check out Odigger.com, it's a directory of affiliate networks. You'll find all the big CPA networks there.
